#freewrite :: Prompt for Day 1020: palm

(Edited)

The white bearded old man carefully traced the lines on her palm with a small stick on one hand while his other hand stretched it open. He shook his head and muttered to himself for a bit before looking straight into her eyes.

"Your road ahead will be a challenging one, my dear, right from career to love to health and family." he said softly. She was taken aback. This wasn't what she was expecting to hear. Shouldn't he have sugar coated it at least, after taking a large sum of her money?

Her mother had warned her against going to a fortune teller. She said lives were shortened when one did. But her friends did it and she was curious. She was hoping for at least one good news. Her friends' sessions were mostly positive. How could this be? Too late to have second thoughts now.

This always happens to me too. My very first astrology reading stopped in the middle because the astrologer got a strong feeling she shouldn't finish it. That was 40 years ago. Recently a psychic answered a question that I desperately wanted to hear "yes" to, with "No". I've lived a long and prosperous life.

Oh dear.. that must have been so worrying. So glad to hear your life turned out well. Good reasons not to see one. I have not tried and I don't think I want to :D
