Hello everyone. Welcome back to Week 6 of the ZAPFIC Monday 240-character challenge. I like to participate in this event as I find it a challenge to compile as near complete a story as I can with a maximum character length of 240. @felt.buzz changed up the challenge a bit to create a new format: ZAPFIC Monday. This Monday's prompt is "growth".

Glenn sat in the church studying the collages.
This last year in counseling helped him realize forgiveness was part of healing.
As his ex-girlfriend and his best friend approached his row, he smiled, then nodded.
That scrapbook was now closed.

Hello. Thanks for stopping by. You know, I've seen so many instances during my life that deal with this issue. I always think "why can't they just walk away" instead of tragic endings I've seen so often happen. Taking someone else's loved one in a manner that's irreversible won't solve the perpetrator's problems. Only spiritual growth can help in any way one can find.

I think the problem is -- and it is a problem that takes spiritual growth -- people want to be in control, to be God over their situation. When that loved one changes the game, it's not just the act of betrayal, but it also gives the lie to the illusion of control. Unless the person is ready to give up that LIE, they wreck themselves, right there, because with every step the other person takes that is not under their control, their self-delusion is shattered. Murder is a form of wickedly asserting control over someone's life and death, and it is why those who cannot get past a betrayal sometimes resort to it ... not realizing that in that act, they will go through many, many, MANY further losses of control. That path goes only downward -- the RIGHT path is to seek the spiritual growth and emotional and mental support to just let go.
You are correct in that the situations are reduced to the control factor. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. The situations spreads from personal to worlwide when any type of exerted control over another is threatened. Other countries with alternate forms of democracy is seeing this unfold as control grapples to slip from their hands.

Hello. I think we all do. It's just a matter of how we go about it for our wellbeing. I've decided to close some also for 2022. My mom used to tell us not to go into the new year with a monkey on your back. Strange saying for a child, but now I understand all those sayings she was trying to embed.
