It's no competition, she told herself that everyday but deep down inside, she knew it always was. From the first day, Dalia stepped foot into this house, she had been trying all possible ways to impress her parents. She was always making the right moves, saying the right stuff, getting those good grades and finally now; a full scholarship at Harvard University. Dalia was the blue eye girl in her parents mind while she was the black sheep in the family. Even Patrick, her own blood younger brother preferred Dalia's company to herself. She was being replaced and no matter how much she tried to keep up with her parent's expectations; it was never enough.

She had enough of this family and things were getting estrange that conversations became arguments, voice raised to shouting, doors slammed all the timed constant crying behind closed doors. There was no ending and no healing for all of them. One thing for sure, she was no longer a required member of the family. It was best that she left this home of hers for the last 18 years. Yes ! That was decided. And it will happen sooner than anyone could have expected.
