I have dead?

The sun is directly above the head when things are getting tense. Many hands are busy with their new work, ranging from throwing bottles, throwing wood, burning whatever they see, plundering shops, pointing knives and not even hesitate to point them at innocent bodies. Among them there may be an empty stomach that hasn't eaten since two days ago. Hot, the weather gets hotter when the fire quickly spreads everywhere. No one knows exactly how the beginning of all this happened. Everything happened so fast.

I ran three hundred meters when I found an empty house which I thought was safe as a temporary hiding place, who knows how long. I hope this event will end soon, or at least I can breathe for a while before I go back to a safer place. Oh, I miss going home! Moments like this are just the homes I miss.

I was sneaking up my body when the screams of several people with big stature came to break the silence. Large bodies with sharp objects in each of their hands. Sickle, knife, machete I can die at any time. Ah, damn it, I'm stuck!

I speed up my pace. Run! That's all I can do right now. They did not stay silent, chasing me until they could, catching me like a game that is ready to be eaten at any time.

"Catch him, don't escape!" said one plump man. It seems that he has an important position in the group. His body which has excess weight makes him unable to run fast like his other friends, all he has to do is command, all will obey.

Dor! A gunshot rang out towards me, I kept running, with all my might, until none of them could be seen again.

I am free? I stop my steps, catch my breath, look around my body. And all is well. I'm still alive!

**

I opened my eyes tightly closed, very slowly. I have a headache but my body feels light. I looked around me, looked a few people gathered to witness something.

"Don't you want to see it too?" asked a man - henceforth I called him a bottle man - a pale face with blood on his head and a bottle stuck in his stomach.

I shook my head, and made sure what I saw just now was true, not a dream let alone a mere fantasy.

I was silent for a few moments. The scenery around me, made my curiosity spilled too. I asked the people around me, they were silent, ignorant, not answering my question.

"It's useless, they won't listen," said the bottle man who suddenly appeared in front of me.

"You mean?"

"Our world is already different."

"What are you talking about?"

He shook his head, then laughed. As if laughing at my question that seemed ridiculous.

"What's up there? How come it's like that?" I asked with a curious expression.

"Oh, that?" his hand pointed at the crowds of people. "The victim died again, victims of riots like us."

"We?"

"Yes. Here, read it," he offered a newspaper, and pointed to a photo that was displayed on the newspaper's headline.

A man was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds to his body. The victim is estimated to be 20 years old. According to witnesses, the victim who had just returned from college was immediately pursued by a group of sharp armed men. Until now the number of victims of riots who died increased to 10 people.

How surprised I was when I saw a photo of my body covered in blood on the newspaper headlines. Hah? That is me? I have dead?
