Standing At The Window / Art / Freewrite's Prompt by @mariannewest

When the clock stoke 12am, on the first day of new year, it didn't seem like a celebration at all compared to years ago. Government had informed us that there would be no massive celebration at the center of the city with fireworks sponsored, shouts and cheering of citizens as we welcomed the new year. Everyone stayed at home. We are all in one to curb the spread of Covid19. Therefore, there would be no crowded celebrations.

Thankfully, there was a mini fireworks at our neighbourhood, not too sure whose, but it did bright up the whole quiet atmosphere. We were lucky. The sight of the boys standing at the window to enjoy the fireworks was beautiful. They were excited about it, wow here, wow there, giving thanks for 2020 and saying hello to 2021.

My heart was filled with gratefulness as well, knowing that although everyone stayed at home, we are united as one. We are doing what we should as citizens to flatten the curve. Cases are increasing lately again. We could not afford to close down anymore businesses or hotels or tourists spots. Economy needs to keep going or else all die.

We are learning to live with covid19. Everywhere we go, we wear our masks for extra precaution. We are advised to minimise going out unless necessary. We are advised to maintain social distancing. Always wash oue hands and be hygienic.

Slow and steady, eventually we will nail it!
