The Participants

@scribblingramma featuring @wandrnrose7

I'm a day late, but am still going to give a shout-out to @wandrnrose7's freewrite, The Leaving.

https://hive.blog/hive-161155/@wandrnrose7/the-leaving

She starts out with a description of the rain, and compares it to flowing tears, which aptly sets the scene for a sad story. I felt Peter's despair over the loss of his arm, and I felt the sadness of his mother, who couldn't make it all better for him. I wanted to know what happened next, but I also didn't want to know, just in case it got even sadder.

@sunnyag featuring @mariannewest

I loved reading @mariannewest how the author has fallen in love with reading audiobooks. She tells us her experience of how she got into this habit as a user of Librivox.

https://peakd.com/hive-114105/@mariannewest/i-love-audiobooks

Later she found another app called Chirp that allows her to use it for free for trial before she started reading even more. She also tells that she mostly bought books that were under one dollar, so she took the advantage of low price.

However, the price was not a matter in case she found something from her favorite writers. In short, she recommends Chirp for audiobooks.

@doppley featuring @hidave

I guess I just had to make an entry to this contest. Although you requested to choose from the last couple of days, I really would not be able to. A lot of writer's have been inactive of late so permit me to pick an older post.

my favorite freewrite happens to be that of someone I hold in high regards. His writing style leaves me in awe and because of the sole reason i want to get better than him someday, I also joined the freewriters community.

https://hive.blog/hive-161155/@hidave/breaking-the-pattern

In this freewrite by @hidave, even without reading the title, we'd all have our respective ideas to what the author is trying to tell us. Reading this write-up, you can't help but allow your imagination run wild. It talks about life in general, how certain people turn out to have unexpected futures, go through pain and hardships and how we often fail to recognize the beauty of life, until it's too late.

@nourtawfiq featuring @rebet

I would like to share @rebet as a very good freewrite in this article

https://hive.blog/hive-161155/@rebet/the-balance-between-the-good

This article talks about how our life have to balance between good and bad things, and as we have nice moments in our life we also have moments when we suffered, and our life have many tests which we have to face .. sometimes we will success and sometimes we will fail ... so we have to be strong to face everything in this life

@latino.romano featuring @saulos

https://hive.blog/hive-114105/@saulos/un-traje-de-pirata-a-pirate-outfit

Translation via deepl:

I would like to recommend a very interesting freewrite by the writer @saulos He tells us a story of pirates under the theme "slow rotation". But it is not really about pirates as we know them. Do you want to know how pirates, limousines, a tailor and a dance are related? Then you have to read this freewrite and great creativity from @saulos

Oh wow, my first active week on the site and I am already in three different contests! I am loving it here and @mariannewest was always my favorite for a long time. However, I am coming across so many talented authors on this platform, I am almost glued to this page. Thanks for considering my entry for the reward!

Glad to hear it :) Now, you have your first HBI - that means that you get a small upvote forever. The more HBI you have, the bigger the vote. There are many contests you can enter to win some...

Oh wow! Thanks a lot @freewritehouse :) and congrats to other participants. However, the thought of the current situation of inactive writers crossed my mind. Why not start some kind of curation trail to increase rewards pool as many great posts struggle to make it past the $1 pool. This would also help in retention in the long run.

PS: if there's already a trail, I'd love to join. I don't have much but over time I'd grow my account

Thanks again @freewritehouse

We used to have a trail - let me check and see how everything works now. I have been not super on top of it since the split and slowly coming back to be more online.
I try my best to upvote the freewriters who post to the freewrite community with the Freewritehouse account. Felt.buzz and i delegated a good chunck of our Hive to it and the vote is much higher than my personal vote.
As soon as I have the trail set up again, I will announce it in the prompt and add it to our posts... (marianne)

That would be great @freewritehouse, somehow I just feel the freewriters community brings a lot of promises and has potential to be one of the pillars of the hive blockchain. I'll love to know about the trail, if you'd be kind enough to leave a mention so I get it in my notifications as soon as the post's out, that would be very helpful . Have a nice day and thanks again :)

Congratulations to the winners! And I would like to sponsor this contest next week. What do I have to do? Perhaps @cliffagreen can tell me what to do?

I just dropped a line on a post like this and asked if what I had in mind for a sponsorship would be okay, and @mariannewest said yes. I'm going to be selecting the 'best' (or my favorite) comment and awarding it with 5 SBI. So anyone who participates over on Steem will have two chances of winning.

Cool, but I want to sponsor it too. That's what I am asking for help with. Can you just add my sponsorship to your post? I could award up to ten hive and ten steem worth.

Sure, why not? We could decide on best comment together, if you want. That would be fun. And I could go ahead and do 5 Hive as well. That would make for a hefty prize on both chains. Let's see what @mariannewest says.

sounds great! that would make a big difference for the winner.

It sounds like you already figured it out with cliff green.
You can also offer a separate sponsorship - we can draw a winner for your prize and a winner for the freewrite house price
Or you can transfer hive to the freewritehouse account with direction how you want it to be used.
Are you thinking ongoing or one time?
Let me know what you decide so I can include it in tomorrow's post. (marianne)

Oh gosh. So many choices! Whatever would increase participation. Checking my wallet I find I have an extra 5 hive this week. Two five hive winners sounds good to me. Let's try that this week. I'll award the prize myself. Less for you to do. @cliffagreen, I'm going to give the new chat function a go so we can talk to each other there. Look for my request. @mariannewest too. Last time I tried this it didn't work.

only on hive, a little chat icon between your post icon and your notification icon.

Well, I've sent a couple of requests to you, and I can't find yours. Not sure Beechat is fully functional yet. Or maybe I just can't figure it out. So, are you set with your sponsorship then?

I think so. Does marianne make the posts? And here we are on Hive, so does that mean the contest will be on both chains? 5 steem and 5 hive to my favorites. Is this in sbi? And the winners are chosen from among those who nominate posts, not the post authors themselves, right?

Yeah I've sent a couple to you too. Maybe chat is only functional for a few still. I managed to have one conversation with someone a month ago, but after that no one gets my friend requests. I suppose I can install discord again just for Isle of Write. Is that the server for @freewritehouse?

To your questions in the first paragraph: yes to all. It's about the comments, not the posts. And, since it is on both chains, we'll have to check both, since not everyone comments on both chains. Should be a good way to spread the love though. I mean, if you pick two (a different one on each chain) and I pick two and freewrite house picks two ... up to six people get basic income!

As far as discord goes, I don't know. I only have it on my phone and I've been using the computer lately, since I have internet now and it's so much easier. Hopefully beechat will get going soon.
