Brad used to hide under the bed when it thundered. Gyles, the usually solitary cat, joined him, snuggling close, until the storm blew over.

But Gyles was a memory, and Brad wasn't a kid no more.

"Come on," she said, again.

Holding hands, they ran into the crashing rain, laughing.

Love the surprise twist at the end!
You pack so much into so few words. This:

"Come on," she said, again.

AGAIN

Brad needed some coaxing, it seems, but we rejoice as he runs into rain laughing. I love a good ending! This is much happier than the "witch" story earlier this week. :)
