A Song and a Story

What do you say about a song inspired story? I started writing using the word fortitude as a prompt but the song seemed a good fit. So why not? It's only 100 words.

"...may God grant the bereaved the fortitude to bear the loss. May eternal light shine upon..."

Her thoughts drifted as she watched the coffin waiting to be lowered into the ground. She hadn't meant for it to happen. She just wanted her to suffer. It was easy. She had watched her grandmother prepare the herbs many times. Too strong gave the opposite effect, she knew.

Her life was perfect before she came along. She ruined it by taking away things that were rightfully hers. Everything was okay now. It's all over, she thought as she threw in a lone flower.
