All I Have : A Sports Freewrite

I couldn't bare it anymore so I walked up to him.
"Don't walk away from me Ramses" I said.
His anger was boiling to the roof and I knew it's going to explode soon. Someone needs to calm this raging beast down before the shit goes to the ceiling. His walk became faster, so I hasten up and called him severally. A boy who has had a troubled childhood with two juvenile correction centre detention during his teenage years and seeing sports as his only way out shouldn't be let off the field this way.

"Ramses"
He finally stopped and looked at me. Eyes in deep tears, I couldn't see his eyeballs clearly, they were deep inside the ocean of tears dripping out of his eyelids. I rubbed a shoulder on him, followed with a hug. Buried my head on his shoulder to assure this young star it's not over yet.

"Coach, this is all I have, this game is all I have, I know I've messed up big time all through the past years but I am making a good path right now and this game is all I have" He sobs the more.

"I know son, that's why you can't back out on the only thing you've got here. The spirit of this game is in you and I see the passion you put into this, I also want you to put the past behind and look forward, put behind the perception of your teammates about you and look beyond today. You'll be great, I can see it, you'll be great".

Thanks to the forces that be that day that Ramses listened to me. Lifting the championship League title cup today brought joy to my heart like I've never experienced in my life. I wish I could hug him from the TV but stationary stroke inflicted leg wouldn't let me. The game was all he has.
