THE QUEEN SYBIL

The queen Sybil is a figure of the collective imagination, widespread since the Middle Ages in the areas of Piceno and Norcia, precisaly in the Sibillini Mountains.
According to popular legend, the Sybil is a sorceress, enchantress and fortune teller, queen of an underground and paradise world, which is accedes through a cave that opens on the summit of Sybil Mounth.
The Sybil would live in a beautifull underground bilding surrounded by precious treasures and bridesmaids with enchanting beauty.
As you can see my dear friends, I’m continuing to work with Gimp and in this period by rearranging some folders of photos on my computer I have found some that have stimulated my immagination.
Ihave chosen a few and with Gimp, I cut them out and made a composition, then I drew on them black birds in flight and I made animation.
The background is the view from my house of the Sibillini mountains.

La regina Sibilla è una figura dell'immaginario collettivo, diffusasi fin dal Medioevo nelle zone del Piceno e di Norcia, precisamente nei Monti Sibillini.
Secondo la leggenda popolare, la Sibilla è una maga, incantatrice e indovina, regina di un mondo sotterraneo e paradisiaco, a cui si accede attraverso una grotta che si apre sulla sommità del Monte Sibilla.
La Sibilla vivrebbe in un bellissimo edificio sotterraneo circondato da preziosi tesori e damigelle d'onore di incantevole bellezza.
Come potete vedere miei cari amici, sto continuando a lavorare con Gimp e in questo periodo riordinando alcune cartelle di foto sul mio computer ne ho trovate alcune che hanno stimolato la mia immaginazione.
Ne ho scelte alcune e con Gimp le ho ritagliate e fatto una composizione, poi ho disegnato su di esse uccelli neri in volo e ho realizzato l'animazione.
Lo sfondo è la vista dalla mia casa dei monti Sibillini.

Il grande albero a destra è una foto che ho scattato a Siracusa in Sicilia, quando sono andato in vacanza, e la donna in abito bianco lungo è una modella.

Perhaps the influences of these legends, have suggested to me a misterious and dark image like this.
For many centuries the Sibillini mountains have been hiding this fascinating and mysterious secret of our peninsula.
The enigma of Apennine Sibyl it has always exercised a sinister and ambiguous fascination on the imagination of peoples from all Europe, in fact many scholars, adventurers and researchers have traveled and explored these places for many years.

Forse l'influenza di queste leggende, mi hanno suggerito un'immagine misteriosa e oscura come questa.
Da molti secoli i monti Sibillini nascondono questo affascinante e misterioso segreto della nostra penisola.
L'enigma della Sibilla appenninica esercita da sempre un fascino sinistro e ambiguo sull'immaginario dei popoli di tutta Europa, infatti molti studiosi, avventurieri e ricercatori hanno viaggiato ed esplorato per molti anni questi luoghi.
