It may sound more strange if aliens are already on earth, it could indeed already be on earth. As many researchers and media information say aliens already exist on earth. From the results of my quote from an Indonesian CNN media:

Harvard scientist Abraham Loeb states the possibility that mysterious signals sent from space to earth every 16 days come from alien civilizations. Another possibility, the signal called Fast Radio Burst (FBRs) arises because of other sources. Loeb believes that outer space signals can come from a variety of sources, both natural and artificial. This signal can come from young neutron stars called magenta stars or other unknown natural phenomena.

"At the moment we do not yet have a (way) that clearly shows the nature of FRB. So all possibilities must be considered, including the origin (signal from the source) made," Loeb said.

Alternatively, this signal may originate in extraterrestrial civilization. These aliens use energy radiations into space.This beam was then leaked and taken by Canadian researchers.

When asked about the possibility that this signal was a form of alien communication, Loen gave a simple explanation. "We periodically make observations on many astrophysical systems [...] if we detect messages with Morse code, then the data needs a more creative interpretation." In addition, according to Loeb, not enough will enter to send messages to the entire universe. Especially if the possibility of the message takes millions of years to get a reply.
