Alien Eye - Ballpoint Pen Doodle
Behold the alien eye in all its glory.
This little doodle was created in my notebook via my handy pentel client ballpoint pen. I was waiting for a zoom work meeting to startup and many people were late. This gave me the opportunity to doodle out this strange looking eye. I suspect the alien this eye belongs to is from a planet where they choose their mates based on eye decoration. Through evolutionary selection only the aliens with the best eyeliner were selected to carry on any progeny.
Sadly the planet of the decorated eye aliens is not a full paradise. These pointy creatures fly around looking to poke an eye out to feast upon their juices.
Not to worry, the aliens have developed protective eyewear that works like a fortified shield. The pointy parasites bounce off these shield and get damaged in the process.

You do an amazing job with the shading considering you're working with a pen. How large were these drawings?

The eye was only about 2x3 inches. The other two are more in the 8x10 size. Shading is easier at the larger format. Also the pentel client ballpoint pens are super smooth and perfect for shading.
Hmm, I'll have to check that out.
I usually find them at staples.
