"Sleepover" by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

Tonight, the grandbaby is spending the night (for the first time.) She was rambunctious and crazy all afternoon, but we eventually blew up an air mattress (we are camping in the livingroom since it's the only room completely baby-proofed), turned the lights down low, and grabbed my Pee-Wee's Playhouse box-set, and she crawled up across my head and fell asleep watching Pee-Wee Herman.

BEFORE she arrived here today, Mariah (my wife, aka "Grandma") and Frankie (the baby's mom) bought some new supplies for the BABY to play with: crayons, colored pencils, "invisible" markers that only color on specially treated paper, and some twist-up colored pencils. Lots of fun art-making was destined to take place, and sure as Death and Taxes, ART DID OCCUR! Here's one of TONIGHT'S works...

Here are a few of my favorite slides from that animated gif!

And here's the original, only minimally processed image...

Not too shabby!

I also made THIS piece tonight:

["Moss Monster" - Colored pencil on reclaimed cardboard with digital embellishments and color.]

AND I finished THIS piece, although it wasn't made with the new baby materials but was drawn in my notebook a few days earlier...

Layers...like a landfill!

Not sure what tomorrow will bring. Probably more art (and maybe some poetry... You never know!)
