💥 DRAGON💥 - DAY THREE OF THE PIXEOSINKTOBER 2020 (Traditional drawing)/ Día tres del Pixeosintober 2020 (Dibujo Tradicional)

Making this illustration was somewhat difficult, when I saw the theme of day three (03) of # pixeosinktober2020 I knew that I would have difficulties with the Dragon, since it immediately came to my mind to make a dragon that comes in perspective attacking a warrior, and for I know from my own experience that drawing this type of image has always been difficult for me and that is why I shy away from them.

Hacer esta ilustración fue algo difícil, cuando vi el tema del día tres (03) del #pixeosinktober2020 sabía que tendría dificultades con el Dragón, ya que de inmediato vino a mi mente hacer un dragón que viniera en perspectiva atacando a una guerrera, y por experiencia propia sé que dibujar este tipo de imagen siempre ha sido difícil para mí y por eso les huyo.

Accepting the challenge with myself, I said to myself: "myself, let's do it!" 😂

Aceptado el reto conmigo mismo, me dije: "mi mismo ¡vamos a hacerlo!" 😂

The Sketch:

Taking into account how difficult this drawing is, I wanted to make a sketch a little more detailed, since the sketch is the basis of the final result.

I started working on the head of the dragon, which would be the focus of the illustration. Those who know about the Rule of Thirds know what I am talking about.

I don't know what kind of dragon it is, actually I saw a lot of references and I think I made a mix of several dragons that I saw, a little of one and a little of another.

I think it does not matter, in the end when we are watching a movie or animated series where dragons appear there are a lot of variety of shapes and sizes.

El Boceto:
Teniendo en cuenta lo difícil de este dibujo quise hacer un boceto un poco más detallado, ya que el boceto es la base del resultado final.

Empecé a trabajar por la cabeza del dragón, la cual sería el centro de atención de la ilustración. Los que conocen sobre la Regla de los Tercios saben de lo que estoy hablando.

No sé que tipo de dragón es, en realidad vi muchas referencias y creo que hice una mezcla de varios dragones que vi, un poco de uno y un poco de otro.

Creo que no importa, al final cuando estamos viendo una película o serie animada donde salgan dragones hay mucha variedad de formas y tamaños.

After making the head of the dragon, I went on to draw the body that was moving away in a spiral.

Making the three horns on his head was also very difficult, especially so that it would be in perspective with the body and not look out of place.

Después de hacer la cabeza del dragón pasé a dibujar el cuerpo que se iba alejando dando vueltas en espiral.

Hacer los tres cuernos que tiene en la cabeza también fue muy difícil, sobre todo para que quedara en perspectiva con el cuerpo y no se viera descuadrado.

Completely done the sketch of the dragon, I began to inking with a fine point black marker, but while I was doing it I felt that something was missing in the drawing, and for that reason a warrior appears on the scene facing the dragon.

Hecho completamente el boceto del dragón comencé a entintar con un marcador negro punta fina, pero mientras lo estaba haciendo sentía que faltaba algo en el dibujo, y por ese motivo aparece en escena una guerrera que le hace frente al dragón.

The warrior is made with simple shapes without much detail, just to represent the scene, I did not want to take the role of the dragon.

When we are making an illustration many times we follow a pattern, first we do one thing and then another, but there are times when we skip those steps and let the work come to life and set the tone for how it should be done. Therefore, before I finished inking I began to make the hatching to give volume 😉

The important thing is to enjoy the whole process while doing the illustration.

La guerrera está hecha con formas simples sin mucho detalle, solo para representar la escena, no quise quitarle protagonismo al dragón.

Cuando estamos haciendo una ilustración muchas veces seguimos un patrón, primero hacemos una cosa y luego otra, pero hay veces que nos saltamos esos pasos y dejamos que el trabajo cobre vida y marque la pauta de como debe ser hecho. Por eso, antes de terminar de entintar comencé a hacer los achurados para dar volumen 😉

Lo importante es disfrutar todo el proceso mientras haces la ilustración.

Working on the body of the dragon was very interesting, making the textures, although I think they could have been more worked, they looked good considering the time I did it.

Trabajar en el cuerpo del dragón fue muy interesante, hacer las texturas, aunque creo que pudieron haber sido mas trabajadas, quedaron bien considerando el tiempo en que lo hice.

To make this illustration I took approximately four (04) hours.

Used materials:

• One sheet of white cardboard from a drawing block
• A school pencil, an eraser and a pencil sharpener
• A fine point black marker
• A black fine point pen

Para realizar esta ilustración tardé aproximadamente unas cuatro (04) horas.

Materiales utilizados:

• Una hoja de cartulina blanca de un block de dibujo
• Un lápiz escolar, un borrador y un sacapuntas
• Un marcador negro punta fina
• Un bolígrafo negro punta fina

It was a challenge to make this illustration, to achieve the perspective of the dragon, to make the head, the shadows and the warrior that faces it, and to achieve with simple strokes the feeling that she is floating, the truth was very interesting.

I could not contain the desire to color the illustration a bit to see how it would look, so I dared and did a quick color test, I hope you like it.

Fue todo un reto hacer esta ilustración, lograr la perspectiva del dragón, hacer la cabeza, las sombras y la guerrera que lo enfrenta, y lograr con trazos sencillos la sensación de que ella está flotando, la verdad fue muy interesante.

No pude contener las ganas de agregar un poco de color a la ilustración para ver como se vería, así que me atreví e hice una prueba rápida de color, espero sea del agrado de ustedes.
