(ESP-ENG) Hablemos un poco sobre Los Caballeros del Zodíaco // Let's talk about the Knights of the Zodiac.
Hello friends, good vibes everyone.
Once I said it and I repeat it again, this has been one of the most important and impressive anime or series that I have seen in my entire life, even above Dragon Ball. The depth in its history and the relationship with all of Greek mythology is something truly incredible and even mystical to the point that I saw it again about 2 years ago because it really is a jewel of history.
Here in my country they broadcast this series in the afternoons just after Dragon Ball and that was a ritual of more than an hour sitting in front of the television watching those animes in a very punctual way and without losses. Nowadays it is strange that they have not been able to make a quality "remake" or something similar to bring back these gentlemen, because yes, they have made several but the truth has been quite regrettable.
- Mitología y el origen // Mythology and origin.
Basically this story begins through a Greek myth where a reincarnation of Athena, the daughter of Zeus, has to be protected by some knights who were born and are destined for this purpose. Seiya, Hyoga, Shun, Shiryu and Ikki, are 5 young people who through some constellations receive powers becoming Pegasus, Swan, Andromeda, Dragon and Phoenix respectively.
From this point begins a battle between good and evil in order to seek to protect the Earth from dark forces and all this occurs in 5 great sagas ranging from the Galactic Tournament to the Saga of Hades which is the last. The whole series always goes hand in hand with the mythological component, with that connection between good and evil, life and death, humans and gods, and that is precisely what makes it so spectacular, the fact of not falling in the cliché of the typical stories of combat and banal fights.
But the detail is that I did not come here to tell the complete story of each saga or the series in general, no, and I do not do it because I am sure that all those lovers and fans of anime surely saw this series so they did not. I see a lot of sense. So today I just want to mention some facts and curious things that are around this whole story.
- Hyoga, el caballero del Cisne // The swan knight.
One of the things that was most noticeable when we saw this series was the "obsession" that our knight had for his dead mother. Some say that he simply missed her like any son would miss his mother but Hyoga took this a bit to the extreme to the point of thinking: Could it be that there is an Oedipus complex? .. - We do not know but it is a theory since in civilization Greek there is a particularly well-known story about this.
- Los Santuarios // The Sanctuary.
There is something extremely curious in this second part or saga of the series. As you well know, we are in the 12 houses of the golden knights that correspond to the twelve signs of the zodiac, some are on the side of Athena, others are not, and there some fighting begins between them and the bronze knights. But what is curious? - because Seiya being the protagonist NEVER defeats any golden knight, it was something that when I realized I was surprised.
- Seiya, el menos querido // Seiya, the least loved.
Other things that at the time attracted powerfully attention was that the Pegasus Knight was the LEAST loved or least popular character by the audience in Japan. When the series was on the air, polls were always done to see how it was penetrating people and every time the question of favoritism arose, Seiya was always last. Something strange for a protagonist but that's how it was.
- La importancia de Athena // The importance of Athenea.
The creator and main author of this series in his original idea had not contemplated making Athena a real character, he in his vision what he was looking for is that the Greek goddess of wisdom was a kind of metaphor with the purpose that each knight had He had to find the Athena of his life so that it would have an end and a meaning. As we know, in the end, he chose to create it and that is how Saori Kido was born.
- Armaduras // Armor.
If there is something characteristic and important in the entire series of the Knights of the Zodiac, it is the armor since they represent the powers that each knight carries with him. Well those of Aquarius, Virgo, Cancer are the product of a contest that was made by a Japanese magazine, those three being selected. It must be said that one of the best armor, for me, is Cancer.
- Géminis y el pontífice // Geminis and the patriarch.
This mysterious character is one of the most important in the series and as happened with Athena, I was not thinking that it was going to be how it ended up being. This was intended to be a thirteenth knight in the history of the 12 temples but then, how would it all fit together? - In the end, Kurumada, the author of the series decided to turn him into the Gemini knight himself as a product of the sign's double personality.
With this we come to the end of some of the most curious things that haunt this series, the list is broader but I mentioned only those that really represent a weight for the history of the series. I repeat, one of the best animes that exist and if they are one of those who have not seen it yet, I highly recommend that you do so, it is a jewel that deserves to be seen by everyone.
¡Un abrazo a todos, nos leemos en la próxima!
