Contest: The older days of anime - Akira review - [ENG-ESP]
Good friends of Hive continuing with the contest of The older days of anime, which I found excellent and a very good initiative from OCD to support it.
For this I brought you a review of one of the anime jewels "Akira"
which is a 1988 movie and which has been influencing its genre ever since. It is considered to be one of the most consecrated and cultured. You will get many similarities with this anime in later ones.
Akira is the first digitally colored manga, the work of Katsuhiro Otomo and co-written by Izo Hashimoto in 1982 in those years the manga was still in black and white, but the movie / anime was released on July 16, 1988, it is of the cyberpunk genre. It was one of the most expensive productions for its time, although the film takes one course and the manga another because it was still being written which culminates in 1990. It should be noted that Otomo makes this manga inspired by the manga Tetsujin 28 (1956- 1960) and as a tribute to its writer Mitsuteru Yokoyama.

Para esto les traje un review de unas de las joyas de anime "Akira"
la cual es una película de 1988 y la cual ha sido influencia en su genero desde ese entonces. Se considera que es una de las mas consagradas y de culto. Conseguirás muchas similitudes con este anime en otros posteriores.
Akira es el primer manga coloreado digitalmente, obra de Katsuhiro Otomo y coescrita por Izo Hashimoto en 1982 en esos años el manga era aún en blanco y negro, pero la pelicula/animé fue estrenada el 16 de Julio de 1988, es del genero cyberpunk. Fue una de las producciones mas costosas para su época, aunque la película toma un rumbo y el manga otro debido que aun estaba se estaba escribiendo la cual culmina en 1990. Cabe destacar que Otomo realiza este manga inspirado en el manga Tetsujin 28 (1956-1960) y como tributo a Mitsuteru Yokoyama su escritor.
The plot centers on two main characters Shōtarō Kaneda and Tetsuo Shima, his friend and companion, both motorcyclists from Neo Tokyo (any resemblance to Evangelion?) A city that 30 years earlier had been devastated by an explosion that caused the 3rd world war. Kaneda is the leader of one of the motorcycle gangs called the capsules which faces his main enemy gang "the clowns" led by the Joker.
After an incident where Tetsuo is kidnapped and taken to a secret hospital and experimented on, Tetsuo becomes Kaneda's nemesis.
The name Akira comes from a secret project where they experimented with children who possessed superpowers, one of these children was called Akira and was the cause of the explosion in 1988, other children friends of Akira survive and help Kaneda fight against Tetsuo.
La trama se centra en dos personajes principales Shōtarō Kaneda y Tetsuo Shima su amigo y compañero ambos motociclistas de Neo Tokio (algún parecido con Evangelion?) una ciudad que 30 años antes habia sido devastada por una explosion ocasionante de la 3ra guerra mundial. Kaneda es el lider de unas de las bandas de motociclistas llamada los capsulas la cual enfrenta a su principal banda enemiga "los payasos" dirigida por el Joker.
Luego de un incidente donde Tetsuo es secuestrado y llevado a un hospital secreto y experimentan con él, Tetsuo se vuelve el nemesis de Kaneda.
El nombre Akira viene de un proyecto secreto en donde se experimentaban con niños que poseian superpoderes uno de estos niños se llamaba Akira y fue el ocasionante de la explosion de 1988, otros niños amigos de Akira sobreviven y ayudan a Kaneda a pelear contra Tetsuo.

In Akira the Olympics for 2020 that happen to be in Japan are also canceled.
Kaneda's skidding on his motorcycle is copied in other cartoons like ninja turtles and pokemon.
The sound of Kaneda's Motorcycle was achieved by combining the sound of a 1929 Harley-Davidson motorcycle with that of a jet engine.
It was featured in a Michael Jackson video clip.
Robocop 3's ninja character is named after the creator of Akira as a tribute to him by the director of Robocop.
The doors, the cream and led zeppelin records are reflected in the movie when kaneda selects a track on the jukebox.
Influenced real action movies like Matrix and Tetsuo: The iron man. Chronicle, Looper, in addition to the television series Stranger Things and Dark and even the Star Wars franchise.
Phelim O'Neill of The Guardian; draws a parallel in Akira's influence on the sci-fi genre with Blade Runner, and Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey.
Leonardo Di Caprio owns the rights to the live action film and it is believed possible to act in it, there are rumors that something will be known in May of this year.
Sony thought to launch a live action in the 90s but this proposal disappeared when the budget exceeded 300 million dollars.
Akira was ranked by Empire magazine as the 51st movie out of the 100 best movies worldwide.In Channel 4's poll of the 100 best animations of all time, both on film and on television, Akira was ranked number 16, IGN also named it 14th on their list of the 25 greatest animated films of all time.Akira's anime also entered TIME magazine's list of the top 5 anime DVDs. The film was ranked # 1 in Wizard's Anime magazine in their "Top 50 Anime Released in North America"

Why the black and white color?
I wanted to expose the quality of the drawing when it came out, the movie is in color xD and now also available in UHD 4K.

Sobre todo porque leí en los comentarios que hay una versión remasterizada. Algunos son puristas de ver solo los originales, yo no tengo problema ni preferencia por ninguno! Si hay una versión remasterizada VENGA! Ya la busco a ver si esta en torrent!

Gracias, sí hay una version remasterizada, también ha sido uno de los animés con mas doblajes tanto en inglés como en español latino (y otros tantos idiomas) yo la he vuelto a ver para hacerl el post jeje saludos y gracias por comentar.
buen post! no conocía esta película tan icónica del animé , ¡aunque la motocicleta me parece conocida! quizá en alguna otra serie animada usaron un modelo similar, sin duda. Está interesante la reseña, sobre todo la parte de "datos curiosos" wow 300.000.000 $ creo que eso desmotiva a cualquiera de hacer una película jaja ,por más taquillera que resulte, ¡me parece poco probable que recupere la inversión! voto y reblog, ¡saludos! suerte en el concurso

I remember seeing a trailer of Akira thanks to a friend who used to buy magazines that had a cd with anime episodes, trailers and behind the scenes. I never saw the movie, nor read the manga and I really don't remember why. I think it's time to do it, thanks for reminding me.
