Today, summing up my trip to the exhibition of Hermitage valuables, located in the General Staff building, I will tell you a little about the collection of paintings that are presented there.
Сегодня, подводя итог о моём походе на выставку эрмитажных ценностей, расположенную в здании Генерального штаба, я немного расскажу о коллекции картин, которые там представлены.
The first and second floors of the museum are traditionally represent classical art. There are many paintings here. I won't be able to tell you about all of them, because the collection is huge. There are paintings of different countries with subjects on both biblical and ancient themes. There are a number of portraits, some of which have attracted particular attention.
Первый и второй этажи музея – традиционно классическое искусство. Здесь много картин. Я не смогу рассказать обо всех, потому что коллекция огромная. Здесь имеются картины разных стран с сюжетами как на библейские, так и античные темы. Есть ряд портретов, некоторые из которых привлекли особое внимание.
There are also miniatures exhibited. For example, this is a painting on a casket. The size of the lid here is approximately 20x30 cm.
Имеются и миниатюры. Например вот это – роспись по шкатулке. Размер крышки здесь примерно 20х30 см.
The third and fourth floors are more modern art. I found paintings of Impressionists and other representatives of that era. including Monet, Sisley, Dupri, and Renoir.
Третий и четвёртый этаж – более овременное искусство. Я обнаружил картины импрессионистов и других представителей той эпохи. в том числе Моне, Сислея, Дюпри и Ренуара.
In one of the halls there was a whole gallery of picture panels. The exhibition "The History of Psyche", made by the artist Maurice Denis, commissioned by Ivan Morozov. This living room is one of the permanent exhibits of the General Staff.
В одном из залов встретилась целая галерея картинных панно. Экспозиция "История Психеи", выполнена художником Морисом Дени по заказу Ивана Морозова. Эта гостиная входит в число постоянных экспозиций Главного штаба.
The epoch of the beginning of the XX century is characterized by bright and vibrant images in works of art. Here the eye constantly picks out unexpected images and scenes. Personally, I am closer in spirit to classical art, but I must admit that all the paintings in the museum are really beautiful.
Эпоха начала XX века характерна яркими образами в произведениях искусства. Здесь глаз постоянно выхватывает неожиданные образы и сцены. Лично мне ближе по духу классическое искусство, но нельзя не признать, что все картины в музее по настоящему прекрасны.
