MIRIODE/PAINTING

The world is not a fair game field and not everyone succeeds in their endeavors regardless of hardwork and devotion and sacrifice. On this, Ecclesiastics 9:11 says;

The race is not to the swift,
Nor the battle to the strong,
Nor bread to the wise,
Nor riches to men of understanding,
Nor favor to men of skill;
But time and chance happen to them all.>

In a nutshell, success seldom equals expectations based on work done or investment.

More than the need for material wealth is the desire for recognition which is innate. We often seek some form of direct or indirect acknowledgement of our existence in our various niches. Hence, a simple question of “what is your name?“ can also mean “who are you?“ and “what is your pedigree“?. This is not only in relation to other people but also in relation to ourselves in understanding who we are as individuals distinct from a mere living organism. On this note, one can say a name is essential to our existence.

MIRIODE which means 'I now have a name' is a declaration of victory. It could mean that one finally understands self and purpose or one has finally achieved external recognition.

Indeed the eyes are windows to the soul and within the soul lies 'true self', uncorrupted by socio-cultural and even economical pressures. I say find your soul, find yourself and then say MIRIODE.

These are my random thoughts and just me trying to make some sense out of some of the things I think about.

The painting shared here is still a work in progress. I opted for a light highlight because it would look better when I render this image into 8 bit.
