Invisible Pain - original acrylic painting
This week I started a new art project, meaning I started using fluorescent colors. I thought I could better illustrate the invisible symptoms of chronic illness by using neon or fluorescent colors.
"Invisible pain" is the final result of this first attempt of a portrait that literally changes colors from day to night. It is a 20" x20" acrylic on gallery stretched canvas.
The image below shows the painting as seen in the daylight.
And here is how it looks as seen under blacklight lamp. You can see it looks slightly different. I struggled a bit to take this photo as colors change depending on the angle you are looking at the painting.
I loved seeing how the eyes pop up more and how real they look!

That's pretty neat, colour changing paints. I'll admit, I do like the version under the black light; it does seem to emanate pain.
