Alien Worlds

So recently I started playing No Man's Sky again, and I really dig the atmosphere that Hello Games (#hellogames) has created. The rendering engine that they use is simple yet really tasteful and well done, it really immerses the user in the game.

I tried to reproduce the same kind of vibe using Blender this morning. Simple particle systems and volumetrics aside, I wanted to reproduce the way the models look. So, I modeled a bunch of simple objects and played with the texture until I was satisfied with the way it looked -and in my humble opinion, I think I did it right, it really looks like this could have been taken from inside No Man's Sky!

Let me know what you think, I might do a few more of these, its fun to do and it doesnt take a long time, so why not!
