I'll give up the colors [ Eng/Span]

I don't like to paint my illustrations digitally. I've never liked it and I've only done it because for me it was "what sells" in Hive as far as art is concerned.

However, I have changed my mind: art in Hive is not valued for being the best colored or the most professional: it goes beyond that. I have noticed that "what sells" in Hive, as far as art is concerned, is originality, genuineness, creativity; sometimes even the connection between the artist and his work.

That's why today I want to inform you that I will stop painting my illustrations, because it's something that, as I draw with the mouse, has always been uncomfortable for me and I don't enjoy it as much as doing a lineart. And that's what I want to start doing now: I want to become an artist of lines, a master of digital lineart comic/manga style.

Since I've stopped being so interested in big upvotes and I've started enjoying the platform and sharing what I like, I've decided that what I'm most passionate about is lineart, which is what I enjoy the most and that's why I'm going to spend all my time making the best lineart. I want to be the master of lineart in Hive!

So get ready, because my drawings now will have no color, but that does not mean they will lose quality. I know I can surprise you with my linearts, and I know I will because I have passion as fuel.

Título: Abandonaré los colores

No me gusta pintar mis ilustraciones en digital. Nunca me ha gustado y solo lo he hecho porque para mí era "lo que vende" en Hive en cuanto al arte.

Sin embargo he cambiado de opinión: el arte en Hive no es valorado por ser el mejor coloreado ni el más profesional: va más allá de simplemente eso. He notado que "lo que vende" en Hive, en cuanto al arte, es la originalidad, lo genuino, la creatividad; a veces hasta la conexión entre el artista y su obra.

Por eso hoy quiero informar que dejaré de pintar mis ilustraciones, pues es algo que, como dibujo con mouse, siempre me ha sido incómodo y no lo disfruto tanto como hacer un lineart. Y de eso va lo que quiero empezar a hacer ahora: quiero volverme un artista de las líneas, un maestro del lineart digital estilo cómic/manga.

En vista de que he dejado de interesarme tanto por los big upvotes y más bien he empezado a disfrutar de la plataforma y compartir lo que me gusta, he decidido que lo que más me apasiona de mi arte es el lineart, que es lo que más disfruto y por eso voy a dedicar todo mi tiempo a hacer los mejores lineart. ¡Quiero ser el maestro del lineart en Hive!

Así que prepárense, porque mis dibujos ahora no tendrán color, pero no por eso perderán calidad. Sé que puedo sorprenderlos con mis linearts, y sé que así será porque tengo la pasión como combustible.

That coloring above is a sample of how my most recent illustration was going, until I decided to give up and stop painting. I didn't finish the hair, the background or other details that I needed to add. And the reason why I didn't finish those things, is that I had already spent more than 15 hours (spread over three days) with the same illustration, without even being close to finishing. Then I lost interest in finishing the illustration and I abandoned it.

I really like how my illustrations end up when I paint them, but painting them is very laborious when done with a mouse; it requires a lot of time and patience, and you constantly get bored of an illustration and end up painting it out of obligation and not out of pleasure, after so many hours advancing so slowly.

Illustrating with a mouse is neither easy nor pleasant. Even the lineart stage, which I like so much, can take me from five to eight hours. And that's the maximum amount of time I usually enjoy an illustration; the rest of the hours are a bit desperate.

Ese coloreo de arriba es una muestra de cómo iba mi más reciente ilustración, hasta que decidí rendirme y dejar de pintar. No terminé el cabello, el fondo ni otros detalles más que me faltaban agregar. Y la razón por la que no terminé esas cosas, es que ya llevaba más de 15 horas (repartidas en tres días) con una misma ilustración, sin siquiera estar todavía cerca de terminar. Entonces perdí el interés en terminar la ilustración y la abandoné.

Y es que me gusta mucho cómo terminan mis ilustraciones cuando las pinto, pero pintarlas es muy trabajoso cuando se hace con mouse; requiere mucho tiempo y paciencia, y constantemente te aburres de una ilustración y la terminas pintando por obligación y no por placer, después de tantas horas avanzando tan lentamente.

Ilustrar con mouse no es fácil ni placentero. Incluso la etapa del lineart, que tanto digo que me gusta, me puede tomar de cinco a ocho horas. Y eso es lo máximo de tiempo que usualmente disfruto de una ilustración; el resto de horas son un poco desesperantes.

Este fue el boceto que hice. He mejorado con los bocetos digitales. Aunque, de nuevo por el mouse, me siguen tomando tiempo jajaja

Before I go I want to thank everyone who supported me in my previous post. They gave me more assurance that the path I am choosing to walk in Hive is a good one :')

Now yes, see you in the comments or in a next post. I will stand out with my next lineart. This one today was just one I was hoping to decorate with the colors. We'll see how they turn out when I don't expect to have the help of the colors.
