Today's opening week post, a sketch this time.

+Nope, It was delayed, but let's leave it as last week's closing. Today we have:

This dwarf warrior exploring new territories on top of her ostrich friend... This was another of my first commissions, a curious and entertaining request.

Hoy toca post para abrir la semana, un sketch esta vez.

+Nop, es que se me retrasó la publicación, pero dejemoslo como que fue el cierre de la semana pasada. Hoy tenemos:

Esta enana guerrera para explorar nuevos territorios encima de su amigo el avestruz... Esta fue otra de mis primeras comisiones, un pedido curioso y entretenido.

The story behind it, I'm not sure; the client gave me a model image of the character and asked me to draw her in this same scenario. What I can add is that the design seemed to me quite cute; and although I know that ostriches can be mounted I didn't expect it to be chosen for a story or circumstance.

La historia detrás de ella en si no la conozco, el cliente me paso una imagen modelo del personaje y me pidió dibujarla en este mismo escenario. Lo que sí puedo agregar es que el diseño me pareció la mar de lo tierno; y aunque se que los avestruces se pueden montar no esperaba que llegara a ser escogido para una historia o circunstancia.

Proceso/Process:

I didn't manage to save much of the process; it's an old paint and when I checked it again, I noticed that I melted many of the layers I used... uppsi.

No logré guardar mucho del proceso, es una pintura vieja y al chequear otra vez note que fundí muchas de las capas que use... uppsi.

I started, as always, with some quick and imprecise sketches; the idea in this part is to lay the bases. I wasn't quite sure how i could draw the mount, so I looked for a lot of images as reference... not that you put mounts on ostriches, but I had to do something.

Comencé, como siempre, con unos sketches rápidos e imprecisos; la idea en esta parte es sentar bases. No estaba muy segura de lo que debía hacer en su montura, así que busqué muchas imágenes a modo de referencia... no es que se les ponga monturas a las avestruces, pero tenía que hacer algo, hehe.

Drawing the ostrich was what I liked the most, having to use the same elements that would be used on a horse... hehe.I still consider it cute in some way.

Dibujar el avestruz fue lo que más me gustó de todo, tener que usar los mismos elementos que se usaría en un caballo... Aún considero que es tierno en su sentido.

I also made extra changes on the clothes, adding more details that would give that adventurous essence. I also added a pastel tone to eliminate the empty feeling that comes from the white background.

En el vestuario hice cambios extras, agregando más detalles que dieran esa esencia de aventurera. También agregue un tono pastel para eliminar la sensación de vacío que llega a dejar el blanco en el fondo.
