Studying: Landscapes and Inanimates

avatar
Hello, Folks.

I am really bad at painting or even drawing sketched landscapes. I've been trying to avoid doing them for a while now. But I'm at a point where they're unavoidable. So I buckled down and tried doing some practice.

This is better than what I usually would have done finished practicing. But I had to sit down and really think about what it was that I found challenging and couldn't get past.

I basically found I had three problems:

  1. Atmospheric perspective.
  2. Texture.
  3. And value and hue relations.

I gained some ground as far as knowledge of my blind spots is concerned. But I still have a lot to learn. I've put aside a day per week to try and tackle the challenges. Maybe that's not enough time for study but I learn better with less time because I can basically plan for that one day and reflect on that one day's challenge. I'm not trying to be the god of landscapes. I just need to learn enough to know how to imply them in the background.

Anyway, If you'd like to see or purchase my work and support me, you can visit my socials and NFT shop linked below. Otherwise, leave a thumbs up or comment.

Bye-bye!!!
