In the end they came out unharmed, Illustration and Short Story!

It was a rainy afternoon at the cottage, the rain had been pouring for hours, and little Eliah had disappeared from the house, his parents searched around the house without finding him anywhere. Suddenly Daniel, the father of the little boy, remembered that before the heavy rain started, while they were playing, he insisted that he wanted to go to the river to play with the water, this he did before falling asleep, so they didn't pay much attention to him.

A few minutes after the little one fell asleep, the rain started, and both Daniel and Emily spent time in the living room of the little house, warming themselves with the fireplace. For a moment they fell asleep too, and when they woke up when they went to look for the little one, he was gone. The flow of the river had increased considerably, so the little one could not pass to the bank that would allow him to return home. Emily without thinking crossed the river in search of her little one, so did Daniel, both of them spent a long time hugging little Eliah, thinking that maybe the flow would decrease because the rain was stopping. Suddenly a bad feeling invaded Emily and she decided to cross the river again with her little one in her arms.

Once he crossed, he insisted to Daniel that he cross too, just when he finished crossing and they began to climb the stairs to the old country house, they noticed that a big wall of water, mud, and tree trunks was sweeping everything in its path, only seconds were left to save them, seconds and a feeling that Emily did not want to let go. Once home and dry, they were only crying and hugging little Eliah for hours.

Based on a story told to me by a good friend, I wanted to make a small illustration, as I have already mentioned, I do not know how to draw, much less a digital drawing, however, I want to learn and share with you my evolution. With the help of Adobe Draw, I made what seems to be the river bed and its shore, the rivers that are mixed up or grow always bring the remains of trees, leaves, and a lot of mud, so I used brown tones for the water, and yes, I still have a lot to learn, however, I wanted to share this little sketch with you.
