Mother's Hug (Step by Step)

Hello Community, my name is CavArt.
I am an illustrator.
This is the first realistic animal-themed illustration.
I hope my drawings bring you curiosity, making you understand how an illustration is made.
In this illustration, I have depicted an elephant with her cub.
It was made with watercolor on 330g pure cotton paper

FIRST STEP
I drew a draft on my sketchbook of the subject and the shot to get an idea.
studying the lights and shadows to know where they will go.

SECOND STEP
On a watercolor sheet I chose the format and drew the subject, the environment with a pencil to understand the measurements and
how to enter the various details and
I gave a first draft of color to highlight the subjects.

THIRD STEP
I gave a second coat of color to bring out the shadows and lights and give volume to the shapes

FOURTH STEP
With the third coat of color I finish creating the last areas of shadow and light. I fill in the details on the subjects and start coloring the landscape

SIXTH STEP
With the fourth coat of color I finish putting the details on the subject and the landscape and wait for it to dry

LAST STEP
frame the drawing with a frame that allows to enhance and give it light
