Weaving for life

As I told you in my previous post I have added new activities to my daily life, since the beginning of the quarantine I have been behind a computer and it is time to gradually regain mobility to my body and peace of mind. One of those activities I'm doing daily and because my time is quite tight I thought maybe I could share with you my artistic process.

If you already know me, you know that I love colors, but if this is your first time reading my blog, I can tell you that since I was a little girl I have developed a very close bond with them and their meanings. I can see auras and interpret them, see the center of people and find magic without knowing them. It is something that I am passionate about, creating graphic designs, freehand drawing, oil paintings and other things that keep me floating in a cloud of inner creation.

Since I was 12 years old I started working in my cousins' craft and goldsmith workshop, where I learned techniques with wires, knots, use of acrylics and more. Being in a workshop makes me feel at home, creating with my hands reminds me of that primitive nature of creation that we all possess, and that in my family we inherited from our grandmothers, who as mothers managed to provide for their family. Learning to use materials such as copper, coconut, stones and different branches of creation I just stopped to practice the art of weaving chaquiras, small stones of uniform size typical of indigenous tribes both here in Latin America and in the African continent. These textiles represent special moments of life such as birth, marriage, consecration, among others. They are also usually a spiritual protection since when placed on the extremities (wrists, ankles and neck) they help the flow of internal energy to remain stable, preventing external vibrations from affecting you.

Pixelart is a concept created to take the art of mustard weaving to a level where it is more free, where creations do not follow patterns, but rather can play as in a vision. One of the things that has surprised me the most is that you can do anything and capture any feeling in a handle. Together with my cousin who is in Uruguay, we create unique pieces that through their sale are destined to help economically the indigenous families of the Wotujja people affected by the border policies and other situations that are lived in the country. Besides being her main livelihood as a single mother.

In the Amazon rainforest it happens the same way, An indigenous story tells that mothers weave and sow, sow and weave for life, for their children, as spiders weave the reality of the world they weave theirs. So under this teaching if you meditate on what you want for the future you can go weaving it in all planes and leaving it engraved in a piece of a unique dream.

In the weave you express your feeling and by seeing it you can remember the peace you should achieve while weaving. It is important to seek serenity and to glimpse a good life. "Sumaj Yuyay Sumaj Kawsay" (live well thinking beautifully). In this way we are able to see the beauty of life, releasing burdens, grudges or any feeling not in accordance with the harmony of living.

Right now I find myself trying to upload my art in NFT format but I won't deny that it has been quite a challenge for this granny. I have tried to scan the patterns but I have no idea how to convert that format hahaha. If someone can guide me I would be very happy to learn... Do you recommend any page? I'm still researching. Tejer para la vida

Como les comente en mi post anterior he agregado nuevas actividades a mi vida diaria, desde que comenzó la cuarentena he estado tras una computadora y llego el momento de ir poco a poco recuperando movilidad a mi cuerpo y paz a mi mente. Una de esas actividades la estoy realizando a diario y debido a que mi tiempo anda bastante apretado me pareció que quizás podría compartirles mi proceso artístico.

Si ya me conoces sabes que soy amante de los colores, pero si es tu primera vez leyendo mi blog te puedo contar que desde pequeña he desarrollado un vínculo muy cercano con los ellos y con sus significados. Puedo ver auras e interpretarlas, ver el centro de las personas y encontrar magia sin conocerlas. Es algo que me apasiona, la creación de diseños gráficos, el dibujo a mano alzada, pinturas con óleos y demás cosas que me mantienen flotando en una nube de creación interior.

Desde los 12 años comencé a trabajar en el taller de artesanía y orfebrería de mis primos, taller donde aprendí técnicas con alambres, nudos, uso de acrílicos y más. Estar en un taller me hace sentir como en casa, crear con mis manos me recuerda esa naturaleza primitiva que todos poseemos, y que en mi familia fuimos heredando de nuestras abuelas, quienes como madres se las ingeniaban para dar sustento a su familia por medio de la costura. Aprendiendo a utilizar materiales como el cobre, el coco, las piedras, cuero y mas, justo me detuve a practicar el arte del tejido de chaquiras, pequeñas piedras de tamaño uniforme típico de las tribus indígenas tanto aquí en Latinoamérica como en el continente africano. Estos tejidos representan momentos especiales de la vida como el nacimiento, matrimonios, consagración, entre otros. También suelen ser una protección espiritual ya que con rezo de los abuelos al colocarse en las extremidades (muñecas, tobillos y cuello) ayudan a que el flujo de energía interno se mantenga estable, evitando que las vibraciones externas puedan afectarnos.

Pixelart es un concepto creado para llevar el arte del tejido en mostacilla a un nivel dónde es más libre, dónde las creaciones no siguen patrones, sino más bien pueden jugar como en una visión. Una de las cosas que más me han sorprendido es que puedes hacer cualquier cosa y plasmar cualquier sentimiento en una manilla. Junto a mi prima que se encuentra en Uruguay creamos piezas únicas que a través de su venta son destinadas a ayudar económicamente a las familias indígenas del pueblo Wotujja afectadas por las políticas fronterizas y demás asentamientos mineros tanto legales como ilegales. Además también de ser el sustento principal de ella como madre soltera.

En la selva amazónica pasa del mismo modo, Una historia indígena cuenta que las madres tejen y siembran, siembran y tejen para la vida, para sus hijos, como las arañas tejen la realidad del mundo ellas tejen las de ellas. Entonces bajo esta enseñanza si meditas en lo que quieres para el futuro puedes ir tejiéndolo en todos los planos y dejándolo grabado en una pieza de un sueño único.

En el tejido plasmas tu sentimiento y al verlo puedes recordar la paz que deberías alcanzar mientras tejes. Es importante buscar la serenidad y vislumbrar una buena vida. "Sumaj Yuyay Sumaj Kawsay" (vive bien pensando bonito). De esta forma logramos ver lo bonito de la vida, soltando cargas, rencores o cualquier sentimiento no acordé a la armonía de vivir.

Justo ahora me encuentro tratando de subir mi arte en formato NFT pero no negare que ha sido todo un reto para esta abuelita. He intentado escanear los patrones pero no tengo idea de como convertir ese formato jajaja. Si alguien puede orientarme estaría muy contenta de poder aprender... Me recomiendas alguna página? Aún sigo investigando. Espero les haya gustado esta pequeña demostración si se animan puedo intentar hacerles un post a modo tutorial. Pronto les cuento algo que de seguro les hará volar la mente.
