Caturday, A Visitor

For this week's Caturday, I'd like to show you a few pictures of a visitor that we had in the back yard yesterday.

We let 2 of our 4 cats out in the back yard during the day. Shitaki, the chunky black cat, and Custer, the fluffy orange cat. They both stay inside the back yard fence. Custer can't climb, and Shitaki doesn't seem to want to leave the safety of the back yard. I have a bowl of dry food and a bowl of water in the greenhouse for them now so they don't go in and out of the house as much as the did before I put the food out for them.

One of the neighbors has a black cat that they let roam during the day. I know it's not a feral cat because it has a collar. Lately, it's been paying us a visit occasionally. It knows where the food is in the greenhouse.

Yesterday, it was in the back yard and both of our cats were outside, so naturally there was a bit of a standoff. I just happened to see it and get a few pictures. I was talking to the cats while I was taking the pictures.

At least there wasn't any fighting going on, just a standoff. Custer only has 3 legs, so if he got in a fight, it wouldn't go well for him. He might be dumb enough to try anyway, but the neighbor cat didn't seem to want to fight. I think that if the neighbor cat keeps coming around, eventually they'll get to the point where they tolerate each other and there won't be any problems.
