Wednesday Walk in the Lopukhinsky Garden

The morning was overcast, but by the middle of the day the sun began to look out of the clouds more and more often, so I decided to go to some garden to admire the golden autumn. I chose Lopukhinsky garden because I rarely visit this place. This garden is not very close to my home, and on the way there are several other gardens, also very beautiful and interesting.

Lopukhinsky Garden is a small garden on the Aptekarsky Island in St. Petersburg on the bank of the Little Nevka River. On the opposite bank of the Little Nevka River the Stone Island is located. The yellow building, which can be seen in two pictures, is Kamennoostrovsky Palace. It was one of the residences of the Russian imperial family, now this building is given to children's extracurricular education.

The garden has a system of small ponds. Their banks are fortified with cobbles, and for the crossing built bridges. One of the bridges is decorated with the inscription: "Wipe your feet" (“вытирайте ноги”).

The meeting with a skier was unexpected for me. I thought the season had not started yet.

The manor building in the park is one of the oldest preserved wooden architecture monuments in St. Petersburg. The building is under restoration, the walls have already been restored, but the interiors still need work.

Да, потому что если гулять - то на острова, а этот сад на другом берегу:)

I am surprised that you tell me that it is a small park, from the images they seem to be a large park. I appreciate that you have shown us these beautiful photographs
have a wonderful night

Wow, another lovely tour that you take me on and again I am really impressed by the beautiful park- especially with so many waters ways and all of the colours in the trees.

But I am very impressed with the architectural style of the old manor building. Do you know how old it is?

Also really impressed with the fact that the palace is now a home for children's education rather than becoming a private home or something..

Thanks so much @tatdt for another wonderful and educational tour.

Aptekarsky Island and Lopukhinsky Garden are now on my bucket list to visit when I get to St Petersburg one day!

Do you know how old it is?

The old manor was built in 1850 - 1859. The building of the estate has changed owners several times, and in 1938 it housed the first city television studio.

Aptekarsky Island and Lopukhinsky Garden are now on my bucket list to visit when I get to St Petersburg one day!

After that, you can cross the bridge and get to Stone Island, look at other old mansions and the park. It will turn out a great walk!

Wow, that's not actually that old for St Petersburg is it. I thought it would be a bit older than that...

But either way it's still cool and I love the architectural style of it.

I can't wait to have that Wednesday walk! 😃
