Hi friends, today I want to tell and show you my walk around New Holland Island. The pictures were taken around four o'clock in the afternoon. I started my walk at dusk, but gradually it got completely dark.

On New Holland Island there is a creative space: concerts, a dance studio, and many small stores and cafes. The goal of my walk was to see the winter ice rink. I wanted to find out how popular the rink is now and if a lot of people visit it. I crossed the bridge and turned left toward the rink.

There were quite a lot of people who came. Everyone has a different level of sportsmanship. Some feel confident on the ice rink, while others hold on to the helpers so they don't fall down.

As I walked around the island, evening came. I went out to the embankment of the Admiralty Canal to admire the last colors of the sunset. The last rays of sunlight reflected in the windows of the houses on the other side of the canal. The Christmas stars were lit on the trees, and the sky overhead seemed completely dark.

Greetings:)))
In the early 18th century, Emperor Peter I invited shipbuilders from Holland to work in the shipyards and the environment was so reminiscent of a foreign port that those places began to be called New Holland.

Yes, there is a long historic connection between Amsterdam and St. Petersburg.
