Wednesday Walk - Lake Creatures
Here's a few lake creatures I found on my #wednesdaywalk by @tattoodjay there are also quite a few #featheredfriends for @melinda010100
First we start out with a nice posing blue bird. This one has nice bright colors, it must have molted recently perhaps for breeding season.
This robin is starting to get its full red feathers. Too bad the stick had to be in front of it's face. Birds like to troll me by hiding their face behind a random stick, then when I move a bit to get the stick out of the way they fly away.
The baby geese are still around and all nine of the goslings from the two families are still around.
The little dudes are nice and healthy growing up fast.
Here's a downy woodpecker hollowing out a home.
Gotta take time to stretch every now and then.
Now for the burping frogs. Quite a few were out. This was the biggest one I saw.
Here's another big guy.
This guy thinks he's camouflage.
This guy was just lounging in the water, a bit tangled in the swamp weeds.
This part of the lake is really saturated with bullfrogs. The great blue herons have plenty to eat here lol.
Plenty of turtles are at this lake as well. They find any surface to sunbathe on.
I think these are painted turtles, I don't see the red ear markings of red eared sliders on these guys.
This guy was far into the swamp area of the lake. The water is almost fully green over there. That's it for this #wednesdaywalk and #featheredfriends
super! I'd really would like to have even 30% of the visual pleasures you've met on this walk. up!
Sometimes the turtles get out too far from the water and I'm able to catch them. Sadly they are now aware that I catch them so they were extra careful this time lol.
Thanks @ewkaw :-)
My pleasure :)
The lake creatures really looks good.
I saw a couple snakes too but unfortunately they were too fast the get good photos of them. Maybe next time lol.
You really tried taking this shots.
They were pretty cool looking water snakes they have an orange belly, one day maybe I can get a good shot of one it's the third one down on this page https://www2.illinois.gov/dnr/education/Pages/WASNFamilyNatricidae.aspx
That's a big snake there!
Gorgeous shots. The birds tend to do the same with me, hiding behind leaves and sticks. 😀
I suspect they do it on purpose if they see you with a camera.
Wild animals don't really are good models but they are beautiful 😍
Yeah they are difficult models for sure :-)
Nature is unique! You took masterpiece photos!
The color of his feathers is fascinating. What is the name of this bird?
Thanks :-) The robins are abundant here, and they sit still quite a while. I use them as camera testing subjects before I go on to the rarer birds.
Awesome photography of lake creatures.
Thanks :-) there's always something to photograph there.
You always have such gorgeous catches ! 🤗
Just have to be there right place at the right time. Though I do get alot of blurry unusable shots each time I go out.
hence the advantage of digital in photography 😉
For sure, I remember the old days of trying to take photos on film then getting a bunch of blurry ones back from walgreens lol.
