The snow is still lingering around for #wednesdaywalk by @tattoodjay here in Chicagoland. These poor forgotten bikes got a good covering of it out in suburbia.

The fresh snow also clumped up nicely on the branches creating a minimalistic veiny texture.

Fortunately it is actually getting warmer here and in the city all the snow and ice has melted leaving plenty of fog.

The corncob condo buildings look nice and ominous in this gloomy weather.

The Wrigley building looks like a scene out of Gotham city in Batman. The gloom complements the abandoned city pretty well.

Here's the entrance to the south half of the Wrigley building. I like the architecture of yesteryear way better than the modern stuff.

Here is some utilitarian 70s era architecture on a bridge that leads to the Wrigley building (on the far right). You can kind of see the classical Tribune building hidden in the fog behind the ugly building in the middle.

Now for some utilitarian modern architecture. All glass and shine with the Langham on the left and Trump Tower on the right.

PSX_20210224_201357.jpg
Here's a mish mash of generic looking skyscrapers getting enveloped in the fog. You can see the corncob building on the left.

Finally a view of the new twisty building way in the back getting hidden by fog. In the evening the lights look extra glowy on a foggy day.

Soon in a couple more weeks I'll have some nice sunshine picture for #wednesday walk but in the meantime it will probably be more gloooooom.

Powerful photos with angles that warp my perception /.Makes you want to dwell for awhile in their captivation..

I have to bring my real camera next time with a wide angle lens to get more of the shot in frame. Though in low foggy light it doesn't do too well without a tripod.

Yeah its just an old samsung phone, does pretty good on the run to work. But it does introduce alot of grain into the photos.

How does this gloom compare to your winter gloom?

at your pictures, yours look a bit worse :)

in a broad sense, we dont have such dense fogs too frequently...
hmmm...
for the last two days the -15, -20C changed to +5C, and I am hearing the sound of rain and melting snow drops all of the time, hehe. streets have some devilish wet porridge instead of a decent snow.

Ommph I know that porridge snow, walk too fast then you might slip and do a backflip in the process. I guess the huge lake next to Chicago is good for generating tons of gloomy fog especially when the snow is all melting.

I feel sorry for those bikes, I bet they are abandoned forever.
