Wednesday Walk - A Turt and Some Flowers

Here's what I found for this #wednesdaywalk by @tattoodjay

I went out on an early morning walk by the lake and found this red eared slider way out from the lake.

Sometimes these turtles leave the lake to find a sandy place to lay eggs. Or sometimes they just want to find a better lake.

I moved the turtle off the curb into the forest.

The early morning sun was highlighting the leaves nicely against the dark backdrop of the forest.

I found a few wild roses growing along the edge of the path. You can see how scrappy and little they are compared to larger domesticated roses.

The neighborhood has plenty of fresh flowers blooming right now.

I'm not an expert at flowers, maybe these are lupine?

Large purple irises are blooming as well.

Here's a closeup of one of the irises.

Finally here's a couple pom pom looking flowers. Happy #wednesdaywalk :-)

Turtle sun bathing possibly, very attractive marking on this little guy.

Marigold flowers in last photograph are stunning. Greens in the forest are dazzling, a wonderful walk indeed.

I wonder if the turtle was looking for a sandy area to lay eggs. Marigolds so that's what those are, I'm terrible at remembering flower names. All my memory has been focused on mushroom identification lol.

Mushrooms are delicious to eat from the store, I know little about them, love seeing them and photographing them. Once I did a post all about fungi and it took a week of research, most interesting and enjoyable.

Flowers are all around, we learn many from walking trying to identify, also drives one mad when trying to research, they all start looking as beautiful or are very similar.

Have an awesome weekend.

I love going out and finding the wild mushrooms. They tend to taste even better than store bought ones.
