A wet walk for #wednesdaywalk
Wecome Hivers to my version of #wednesdaywalk. The weather has been quite wet here but no matter! My spirits aren't dampened and I enjoy a walk in the rain with a proper umbrella. Remember, this is the tropics so either wet and pleasant or dry and burning hot! So let's go already for a cup of tea!
The rain is strong. Great day for a walk! Let's go :)
The mosque near my house.
Beached... well ok. Not my idea of the term but hey let's enjoy! Maybe its an amphibious VW?
Thai minibus. Pay your money and ride the ride. Easier to close your eyes. Sometimes terrifying rides. But hey its faster than the big bus ;)
Chinese house shrine across from the mosque. No problems in Phuket!
No sit down! Got it?
A sign of the times. Not unusual in Phuket town but now increasing.
Open daily, except for today. And tomorrow, and the day after maybe.
This was recently a bank.
They will never forget their King.
Halal food.
Covid insurance? No problem.
Surin Circle known as the clock tower circle on a wet day.
Roti fixings.
Very quiet these days in Phuket.
Race truck. All too common a sight. No need to wonder why the traffic fatality rates are so high. Let's just say this isn't for a slow cruise around.
Some nice dust graffiti from some Japanese tourists.
Love Thai in the dusty abandoned shops near the old bus station
Pretty much no one going anywhere these days.
Local swimming pool ;) It's been dumping rain the past few days. Again...
The Chinese temple next to the Surin circle.
The cosmic walkway...
The old cinema.
Times are rough but construction goes on... A hotel for Chinese tourists...
Phuket has/had so many hostels I really wondered how they survived so long. Pretty cool ones too. This seems to be gone.
No customer and no worker either.
This type of tea is called teh tarik in Malaysia. The brand comes from Yala which is a mostly Muslim province in south Thailand where they speak a language quite similar to Bahasa Malay.
Social distancing etiquette.
Next to the mosque. The graveyard for the Catholic Church.
Papayas!
No customers these days so many businesses are renovating. Cool design here.
A new cafe. Thais have a great eye for presentation.
This was a burger place, then a gym and now back to burger. Interesting.
This is a very Phuket vehicle called a saleng. Basically its a car for people that can't afford a real car. Works perfectly though.
My alarm clock.
In front of the gold shop. Must have something to do with good luck I reckon.
Tea time after a rather wet walk!
Thanks for reading! As always feel free to...

A wet one indeed, and signs of the economic downturn are evident there. Hope the world can get past this time eventually.

Yes on both accounts. Phuket and much of Thailand depends on tourism directly and indirectly. No tourists and no money. As soon as they come back everything should recover quickly at least in Phuket...
Thanks for joining Wednesday walk even on a wet day
