Wednesday Walk - SUNNY AUTUMN IN THE OLD TOWN
On the opening photograph of this walk ...
... you can see a detail of the old Venetian castle at the end of the very atmospheric alley that leads to the center of a picturesque old town. On the following shot ...
... I'm back in time, further from the castle, watching the man on the tractor returning from the woods ... or from the fields. Continuing this backward walk, the next shot ...
... is leading to a moment when I was standing on the crossroad, and the tractor just entered the frame.
All these photographs were taken some hours ago.
I drove for a walk this morning, about 40 kilometers, to the small town with big castle ...
... the town called Svetvinchenat ...
... which means Saint Vincent ... in the local dialect.
On these last few shots you can take a good look at the biggest church in town ... built in 15th century.
Here is a closer view of the details on the facade ... and on the following shot ...
... I zoomed in a bit more.
I visited this place many times ...
... walked every little street and explored the town from every angle ...
... but still ... somehow ...
... I always find inspiring things and moments to put on photograph ...
... a shadow, ad example, that I never noticed before ...
... or a small tree on the main square, near the old well, that I never photographed in this beautiful autumnal edition.
You can see only a fragment of the wall around the well at the center of the square ... and I won't show you the whole thing in this post ... just two fragments ... this one ...
... and the elegant metal construction above the well ... that creates a harmonious composition when put on the same shot with the church.
This is another look at the castle ... on the shot taken from a different angle.
This is just a small detail from the castle walls ... and on the following photograph ...
... you can take a peek through the embrasure in the thick walls.
This chimney is also part of the castle.
This shot was taken in some small side street ... and with the following set of photographs ...
... the walk continues ...
... though the web of narrow streets ...
... around the spacious main square.
This is a view at the church tower ...
... from a crossroad in that part of town.
This is an interesting detail of the church, well hidden in a small alley.
Here I passed by a closed window ...
... and here by some opened one.
Here you can see some tall, ornamental grass ... growing in someone's garden.
A closed gate of some old storage building behind the church.
A wider view of that area. With the following photograph ...
... I'm approaching the castle again.
An old car is parked in front of the multimedia gallery with
" House of the witch " written on the window.
Streetlamps, autumn leaves and the blue sky are creating lovely compositions along the way.
Some of the trees have lost most of their foliage ...
... but those few yellow leaves that still hold on, look pretty cool among the barren branches.
Here is another lovely plant I photographed along the way.
Here is an autumnal look at some beautiful old buildings ... and some more leaves.
Here you can see some trees still covered with green foliage ... only one of them is partially brown ... or more like orange - brown ... something like that ... autumn comes in many beautiful shades, that are sometimes hard to define.
Here is are some old buildings and the coffee bar with the view on the castle ... and on the following shot ...
... you can see the castle across the street. And so here, the post that started with the castle ... ends with the same building - THE END.
As always in these posts on HIVE, the photographs are my work.

Very beautiful town and great pictures! I especially liked the details: gates, windows, tiles...
Beautiful place Svetvincenat ... a place where time stood still and to be interesting medieval battles are held ::))
Werriiiy nice place :D
By the way, these flowers have been used since ancient times for decoration on horizons, balconies and gardens, mostly in piterum, here in Istria they are called erbasrdine.
There is a new modern species that is the same as the old one only it has one flaw it does not smell like the old variety .
lsd decorative leaves and yarn decorative flowers when leaves as if you caress something gently what you love, the plant emits a wonderful scent that repels mosquitoes .
That's why it is here in our old houses, but because of this concrete and the distance from nature, unfortunately it is less and less .
I like to look at the car with respect as our ancestors looked at it and respected their old ones, they simply respected the harmony of nature .
Nice plant erbasrdine :)
A beautiful town, my friend!
As is often the case with you posts, I did some reading. What a wonderful town. Rich in history. Your pictures tell a lot. More personal perspective than the pictures I found online.
The tractor is perfect.
Wow! I could see so many knights on horses along the roads and the castle! What a nice and haunting place at night! LoL
