Zoo day with the family

The hospital my wife works for was having a event at the zoo today and we went along with the rest of my family. The occasion was milestones of working for the hospital. So people who hit 5 years, 10 years, 20 years, and 25 years. My wife has worked there 10 years. Well, technically 11, but they didn't have the event last year. And kind of 13, but they don't count school. I don't know how it works.

My niece and nephew had the best time, but got worn out by the end of it. Apparently, one of them was asleep in the back seat of the car within a minute or two of getting in the car.

This was my first time going to this particular zoo (Milwaukee County Zoo) since I was probably 10 years old, aside from when I delivered some packages to the aviary there a few times at one of my old jobs. I'm not a huge fan of them as I feel a little bad for some of the trapped animals. Some of the big cats especailly just seem bored with the lives they're forced to live. Or not... maybe I'm being too sensitive.

We saw just about everything there was to see and even went on a little train ride through the zoo. The train was really small and probably meant mostly for kids, but there were obviously adults on it too. You can't just put kids alone on a train and send it around the zoo, for obvious reasons.

It was a pretty fun day overall! It went by super quickly. I got a bunch of Splinterlands rewards today, but none of them were all that noteworthy, if I'm being honest. That's not a complaint, though. I've been getting so many rewards in general from that game that it doesn't even matter.
