Hello guys it is yet another day just want to let you all know I am alive and safe by God’s grace hope you all are good? Today I will be sharing my experience with you on a visit to watt market which is located in cross river state southern part of Nigeria it was fun I got to learn a lot.

On my visit to watt market the first surprise I got was the long line of trailers that blocked the main entrance and others that were off loading on the motorways inside the market.

They were all stoked with food items like rice, Beans, Yams, Onions, and Peppers… all brought in from outside the state. But corn and cassava are being produced locally, within the state. As I saw all this things what came into my mind was that Calabar must have a large population to consume all the food items.

The market is divide into sections, accordingly to the items sold, each section has many block of shops occupied by market women and men. The shops that sells clothing materials and electronics are not as big as that of the food shops. More than five banks operate around the market.

There is also a motor park and a police station, first I entered a rice stall, ‘ rice like other grains like corn groundnuts and garri were all sold in a measure” kongo” that cannot be changed, it contains ten milk tins of rice, but some traders have a way of reducing it by a cup or two, excepts the buyer watches closely and insists on the right quantity. I was surprised when I found out that locally made rice has more food value than imported rice. It was indeed an experience to not forget soon.
