I AM ALIVE CHALLENGE: #DAY 10
Welcome back to my daily blog. This is @daniky from Nigeria. I hope you're doing great wherever you are in the world.
Today is Friday, the 18th of September 2020 and the day 10 of my entry to the #IAmAliveChallenge, and initiative brought forward by Erick Gustafsson @flaxz.
Today happened to be a rainy one here in Lagos accompanied by an intense night cold. I'm already used to wearing my cardigan these days to prevent cold getting to my body. We're used to long daily traffic at a standstill within this region of the word, a journey that is supposed to take just an hour might take 4 to 5hours.
Studies has shown that covid 19 as a viral disease, loves cold weather. It is able to spread through long distances and survive in an outer environment like on wood or steel metal for hours before it becomes in active. So there's a need to constantly safeguard our self by making sure we wear our face mask and keep social distancing as a routine for the purpose of our health. Dispose off tissues after use in waste bin. Constantly wash your hands and apply an alcohol based sanitizer to disinfect germs that might linger on your perm.
Be careful of the kind of food or fruit you take. Some people uses their hands to prepare dishes or sell fruit, while most buyers may never care to wash the fruit properly before eating. Most of these items might have been contaminated with covid 19. So, it's paramount we take adequate precautionary measures to ensure our health and safety at this trial moment. Thanks for the warning with regards to fruits. I've heard of the traffic situation in Nigeria, but didn't know it was this bad.
yeah, thank you bro @fredkese. I believe Lagos traffic is one of the most congested one in Africa due to the high population density, but we dont have an option but to comply with the traffic situations here. Happy sunday to you bro.

Hi @daniky! I see that you are very aware of the importance of prevention. The suggestions you give us are excellent and easy to apply. It is true, many times we ignore that the Covid19 virus can be in any place or surface, and even food, that is why all hygiene measures are necessary. In my particular case, I don't consume food prepared outside my home, and I disinfect all fruits and vegetables by soaking them in water with white vinegar or water with bicarbonate of soda. I also dispose of all the food packaging. A big hug, may God give you a lot of health and life. A big greeting and thanks for remembering me!
Hola @daniky! Ya veo que estás muy consciente de la importancia de la prevención. Las sugerencias que nos das son excelentes y fáciles de aplicar. Es cierto, muchas veces obviamos que el virus del Covid19 puede estar en cualquier lugar o superficie, e incluso los alimentos, por eso toda medida de higiene es necesaria. En mi caso particular no consumo alimentos preparados fuera de mi hogar, y desinfecto todas las frutas, vegetales, hortalizas remojándolas en agua con vinagre blanco o agua con bicarbonato. También desecho todos los empaques de los víveres. Un gran abrazo, que Dios te dé mucha salud y vida. Un gran saludo y gracias por recordarme!
