@jlufer - Weed is one of the fast growing plants in this world. Apart from get rid and burn it, you can use the dry weed to cover the soil to reduce evaporation of the water moisture. But you need to make sure that the weed is completely died and being dried. For leaves and planted that infected with disease and fungus, I strongly recommend to burn it. Good luck. Have fun and enjoy the fruitful from your garden.
