Work is just like working out

I have never been one for Long bouts of concentration. I can usually manage a certain task for 20 minutes, sometimes an hour if I’m really feeling it. That is one of the reasons first school and then WORK has always felt like torture to me.

Concentration is a skill I’d like to learn though and so I do my best. The best teacher though is the work grind. I work for 3 hours sometimes and feel fantastic now. 4 and I feel alright. 5 and I feel a little numb. 6 and I’m tired. 7 and I’m drained. 8 and I’m a walking corpse. Or at least that’s how it’s been this past year.

Due to the cost of living and my mediocre salary, I have to work more and more though.

I find that working it isn’t just a matter of submission though. I train myself to have a positive attitude and believe in my ability to stay energized and find myself feeling better and better. Today I worked for 8 hours and I feel...drained. But look above, at 8 hours I should feel like a walking corpse! Drained is how I feel after 7 hours. I’m getting stronger! I’m generating more Qi. I’m able to shine like the fucking sun.

Before long I’ll finish 8 hours as if it were 3 and maybe I’ll be able to take on 9 or 10 hours. Then 12. How awesome would it be to work 12 hours without being drained? I refuse to believe it’s impossible. I just need to remember every moment that I’m getting closer and closer to a life I more desire.

And one day months from now I’ll substitute much of my WORK with play that pays, and unlike before, I’ll be totally focused and able to get so much more done.

This month I had a goal to finish up to chapter 15 of my novel. I haven’t started and honestly, right now I can’t think about much more than laying down and perhaps lazily chatting and watching videos.

But maybe after that nap!!!!

I think it's important to develop a positive routine so there's a certain time of the day you work on a certain task.
Not only does it make us more efficient, it saves energy because you don't have to think about what you will do next.
It was a nice read! May you be successful in becoming who you want to be!

Keep it up! This is pretty impressive for Winter time.

This sounds amazing. The question is, that it still feel like play when you get paid for it? I guess that depends on the mindset too.

Keep it up and enjoy your breaks / rest. In the end, we all need recovery time, preferably not just when we sleep ;>)
