When It’s Apple blossom Time

The air is filled with the sweet smell of apple blossoms along the Confederation trail. Yesterday was a beautiful June day for a walk.

The pretty deep pink blossoms on the crabapple tree.

I could hear the songs of birds from the trees as I walked along. They were too quick to photograph. This robin wasn’t afraid and remained a greeter on the trail.

Oh, the sweet scent of apple blossoms! The lingering scent is in the air, I can almost smell it from here. What a wonderful way to wander through the trails, the scent following behind.

The birds of song are everywhere now, such a perfect time of the year. I patiently wait for it to get here, and when it does, it seems like it has never left me.

The closeup of the crabapples blossoms is spectacular! I make jelly from them, but, I haven't munched on them too much since I was a kid and we would snitch them out of the tree for snacks. We tried to get them before the birds did! :)

You live in such a beautiful area, every corner of PEI that I have ever seen is amazing. Nature loves her too. When I went back there this fall, it was like visiting a dear old friend. I guess I didn't realize how much I missed it. My father loved it and would bring us there. I can see why now. Thank you so much for using the tag, #alwaysaflower!

I just came back because I just finished the song! Ha! What a happy little song, that is, and such a catchy piece! Thank you so much for sharing that with us! Annapolis Valley or bust! :)

It’s great you have wonderful memories associated with P.E.I. May restrictions now to come over. Cottagers who live elsewhere will have a hard time coming here with all the restrictions. With the pandemic there will be no cruise ships allowed here this year. Better to be safe.

Some restrictions in restaurants are lifting and they are going forward with the next phrase as long as there are no cases.

I have to be honest with you. Anyone who goes on a cruise ship now is crazy. I probably won't go on a cruise for at least a year or two. Let them get the germs under control with vaccines first.

It is so sad that the cottagers won't come. We are still very locked down, so you are talking to the wrong person. We have been living with restrictions for so long, yet, thankfully, people have been patient.

I guess, these are the blooming apple trees along the trail where you had this nice walk with your friend the other day. I love it when the trees are blooming in springtime and these are beautiful images, Jo, I love the close-ups of the blossoms :)

Happy weekend Johann. It’s going to be a rainy day here but maybe that is good for crops.

Yes, the photos are from the day I walked the trail with Marie and her little dog, Jake. It’s a great meeting place for the dogs. Many walkers have dogs (on a leash) with them and Marie’s little Jake acts like he knows them and will run up to them. Marie has one of those leashes that will unwind to give the dog more freedom and she can wind it up to bring him closer. Marie’s protective of Jake and will pick him up if she sees a big dog approaching.

I’m happy you enjoyed the song Johann . 💞 Annapolis Valley in Nova Scotia is famous for it’s apple orchards. 🌞

Hi Jo,

I hope it didn't begin to rain and you have a wonderful day too, although you are right that the crops need the rain.

A very gray morning turned into a sunny day here and so I have been sitting on my motorbike for a few hours and later I visited my brother in law and his wife. There have been dark storm clouds in the north, but fortunately they didn't move to us in the south.

I bet it was much fun for you two and especially for Jake having many dogs around to play with, as long as no bigger dog is hungry ;) but then your friend can quickly press the button and Jake will fly into her arms ... I've just imagined that 😂

The rain got me today when walking to the car from the store. it was raining cat and dogs and finally clearing up now.

It sounds like you had a good day and the rain held off.

I have a good photo of Jake to use on a post down the road. I think it will go good under letter “H.”..not telling right now 😉

Yes, I would say I have had a quite good day, especially because in the morning it looked like a rainy day.

I was soaked in a few minutes with the downpour. I jumped in the car and turned the heater up full blast and it helped. 😄 Maybe nicer day tomorrow.

Our weather forecast seems to have been wrong for today too, because instead or rain we have very nice weather - it's warm and the sun is shining. That means that today I also won't be much at home.

The weather gods decided to keep the flood gates open. It’s raining now but softly. I’m looking out the kitchen window and everything outside is in many shades of green. It’s the kind of day when you need to take a sweater if going out but I don’t think I’ll be going anywhere today.

Our weather has not become that beautiful in the end, but it is warm and it didn't rain yet. I began to make my "G" post before lunch and now it's mid afternoon - completely forgot the time ;)
I think I take a break now and if I come home early enough I'll finish that post, because I know that I'll have not much time tomorrow.

Just as I wanted to leave the house it was getting dark outside and I decided to stay at home - riding a motorbike in the rain is something I do only if I have to ;)

So your rainy day has been good for something 🙂 I just had a look what time it is in Canada - it's lunchtime and you'll still have the whole afternoon. Maybe even the sun will make an appearance 🙂

I think the crabapple is my favorite Jo as there was a big old crabapple in the back yard of my childhood home. Many good memories of that beautiful tree! A storm took it down after I was grown and gone but I can still picture those beautiful blossoms! The apple tree blossoms are lovely as well..looks and sounds like you had a wonderful walk! 😊 💞

My parents also had a crabapple tree on the farm Dee. It is long gone but my brother lives there now and has a new one planted. Seeing this one does make me want to go to the nursery to purchase one to plant somewhere in the yard.

Love those beautiful blossoms @redheadpei Such beautiful photos. I always think that blossoms in particular, give us so much. With the coming of spring, they bring us beauty, fragrance, and the message of hope, that winter has ended, a new season has begun and if we're patient, we can enjoy the fruit of those flowers later on.

Beautiful blooms with lovely robin to greet you along the way. Walking down the lane with this perfume must be a wonderful experience.
