Sublime Sunday or Beautiful Sunday- It is smiles all the way

Sundays are always sublime. This Sunday was very special since they have lifted the lock down and the 'weekend curfew' which annoys me the most. The number of cars that hit the highway so early in the day was amazing to see. I expected people to stay home so early on a Sunday morning but looks like everyone needed to get out of their homes that have become our prisons for months now.

Our first stop at the park (there were not many people around) was a sign of things to come. The dahlias are in bloom. I had forgotten that the dahlia back home is in bloom as well. I have a smaller variety in containers, but these dinner plate varieties are out of the world, nothing like the smaller ones at home.

The park fences were over flowing with alamanda of all colors. The peach ones are my favorite, but for some reason pink and burgundy tinted ones seemed to be crying out for attention. This would be so only until the yellow alamanda starts to bloom.

These huge showy flowers serve as beautiful hedges in most parks here. When trimmed regularly they become walls of flowers. Like this image below.

The tabebuia aurea dazzled us with a brilliant show. there was a white cheeked barbet pecking away at the seeds pods and making its Kot-roo,Kotroo (description from Wikipedia)[!https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White-cheeked_barbet] calls. Most of the time these birds can only be heard and not seen as they hide behind the thick green foliage into which they blend easily.

As we left the park and took to the roads again we saw huge bunches of chrysanthemums displayed everywhere on the roadside. I wanted to buy a few of these containers but with the 207 suspected cases of delta (plus) variants lurking around I had no intention of mingling with the crowds (there were a lot of people everywhere) to choose the plants I needed.

I was surprised that these mums were already in bloom. They usually bloom in October and last up to December. November being their peak season they are called grave flowers commonly.

This wild blue morning glory which we carefully weed out from our gardens spread themselves happily on the road sides. This particular type has very rough, almost thorny vines which tend to wind around plants and slowly kill them with their grueling strength and dense growth.

It looked like the sky was stretched from heaven downwards. What a beautiful way to begin a day, for me it is the kind of sublime ending to the week gone by and a beautiful start to the one that is waiting to burst in on us.

Just being with the one you love, taking in the beauty that nature has to offer and feeling the exquisite caress of the soothing love in your soul is sublime. I cannot think of anything more sublime than this.

Thanks for taking the time to read and respond.

I have asked myself over and again how you are so opportune to have those flowers that probably have gone into extinction in parts of the world.
You should open a conservation foundation, you have enough materials in your disposal to do that.
These flowers have once again given additional flavor to my sublime Sunday.

Sweet of you to say that most of these images were from the park and roadside nurseries.
Have a blessed day!

Yes, I did had the most awesome weekend in a long time. Nope, we hardly got down from the car, if there were people around. We were in the park early and there was hardly anyone around. Keeping safe is high priority for me. Thanks for the reminder@aimharryianne. Hey and please call me Sofs.

I love the dahlias. I saw many different types at Flower Dome at our Gardens by the Bay early this year.

These are such beautiful flowers, photogenic, colorful, dramatic, and lovable. We usually have so many of these in the parks this time of the year. Varying petal shapes, sizes and arrangements. Cannot get enough of them.
