Serambi Mekah is the nickname given to one of the provinces in Indonesia, namely Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam. It is called the Veranda of Mecca because Aceh is the area where Islam first entered Indonesia. Then what is culinary like in this province? Is it similar to dishes in the country of Saudi Arabia?

There is something quite different about Acehnese specialties, even though the population is predominantly Muslim, the culinary delights there are still full of local wisdom, namely spices. The dish is very aromatic because it is mixed with various types of spices that can only be found in the Aceh region.

The first is koja bay leaves, which are curry leaves which are also widely used for cooking in India. There is also Sunti Acid, which is tamarind, made from dried vegetable starfruit. Pliek U is the fermentation of coconut meat to brownish color.
