Fungi Friday - Spotting Mushrooms with My Daughter

It rained a lot for this #fungifriday by @ewkaw

Finally it stopped raining and I went on a walk with my daughter to look for mushrooms.

We found these mica caps bursting out of a tree planter.

She picked a few apart and I showed her the gills.

Next we found an old dryad's saddle.

I lifted my daughter up to see the pores underneath. One of these day's I'll find one that is harvestable and we can eat it at home.

Here is a typical lawn mushroom in someone's yard she picked.

Now for a strange pinning mushroom.

I'm not sure if this is an amanita yet or possibly some kind of scaley ink cap. I'll keep an eye on it to see how it opens up tomorrow.

That's all for now, hopefully we can find some chicken of the woods soon.

Now she does a dance when she finds a mushroom. Hopefully we can get a camping trip in for some real mushroom hunting.
