Self empowerment.

On my way home it was raining so badly so I got stocked under an umbrella business owner. I thought of interacting with her and patronizing her product then, “Interview”.
So I interviewed this cook who sell snacks with her brother for a living. Her brother own his own popcorn session while she sells snacks side by side. I asked her few questions which where answered well and also inspiring to me.

Questions.

• How she learnt this skill ?
  She learnt the skill “baking” after graduating with an Agricultural degree. After her graduation she went to work in a bakery has an apprentice which reviewed most of the recipes and how to mix ingredients together. She told me most agricultural companies are always pre occupied and always scared of employee without no experience in the field.

• Why did she chose to setup the business ?
  She said she had to stand on her own, since she couldn’t acquire a job position and she has her families to feed, bills to pay and most of all she the dream to become her own boss.

• Is her certificate valuable to her carrier ?
  “Of course, yes” she replied, she said the moment she set up the business in a big form challenge of bakery certification or a certificate of any kind could come up and also be a valid documents to tender to the government owning your owning private business.

• Has the business been profitable so far ?
  She said so far, it has been selling because she made it cheap and attractive to people and also thanks to the middle school students who shows up most of the time to patronize her snacks. And very soon she’s looking forward to setting up in a big form.

After baking inside an oven, she said she has to fry the pie just to avoid break while eating.

After she made egg rolls, the rain became heavier so she used two plastic trays to control the rain entering the hot oil. Avoid splash on our body.

The cause of lack employment also has made most people especially the young diversify into home jobs (Freelancing) and going out to the streets to sell products. Trying to reduce the rate of crimes and also balance there life’s development.
Interviewing the cook was actually fun because I got to learn the real truth about the real world. The act of opening your mind to handy skill and other knowledge not relating to your field you might never know what you would end up doing.
