Lost hope turned out to be tears of joy. POB-WOTW #EUREKA.

My last year at middle school gave me the full joy of finally been free after six(6) years in boarding school. No enforced rules of teachers or parents on me.

I wrote three exams trying to gain admission into the university but I failed my WAEC exams in the year 2017 and did well in my other two exams. This failure was a mass failure in the school that made most of us loss hope in gaining admission into the university that same year. Most people where crushed and most gave up totally on the shock of there results. I also lost total courage in myself especially that anxiety of finally been free on my own.
I was never top in class during my mid school days, I was just the normal average student that attracts no attention or audience in the school.

After my failed my WAEC exams, it affected my graduation because my parents where so disappointed in me to the extent they saw no reason traveling down to my graduation after been away for six years at mid school. It wasn’t there fault because they had all hope and expectation from me and I shocked them with a failed result.
Getting home, my parents tried to enroll me into another mid school starting from grade V (5). That day I was so scared and broken because I won’t be stopping mid school with my mate that year. Luckily for me they saw that could be very hard on me and there was no way in hiding the shame I brought home.

Instead, I was driven to a town very far from home where I had no screen, no junks, no fun, limited interaction with people and left with a junk of books and lesson classes in an underground school (I.e. worse than a public school). Funny enough I enjoyed my stay there and I learnt more to life than just been classy and beautiful. It was mind blowing they way they teach pupils and they just had only five(5) teacher for just a class of more than 350 students.

Like seriously, I was just used to the maximum of 15 to 10 students per classroom and now I am in a class room of over 350 students. That point in my life I was able to;

• Develop my courage to face the crowd.
• Learnt to face the bitter part of life.
• Been open minded and listened more and talking less.
• Prepared me for something worse.

That same year I went to the university to write my entrance exams (post-UTME) and I passed the cut off for the course I chose. That gave my mom the hope back that I could still make it to gain admission that same year. So, she kept on applying unknown to me stocked at the middle of nowhere.

Luckily the admission board was released and my name came out has the fourth to gain admission into the university. That day I cried because when all hope was lost in me I still got favored and it became tears of joy.

All these little short experience I had that year made the man I am today and it kept me going no matter how bad the situation might me.
