What is your favourite Summer time movie ?

One of my Top 10 movies to watch at the beginning of every summer is the Great Outdoors with John Candy and Dan Acroyd.

It tells the story of lovable Chet Ripley (John Candy), his wife Connie and two sons who decide to vacation at a log cabin on Lake Pechoggin, Wisconsin.

Their summer time get-away is interrupted when Chet’s obnoxious high-rolling Investment banker brother-in-law Roman Craig (Dan Acroyd), who is married to Connie’s sister Kate and two twin girls show up unannounced.

Chet was hoping for a good old fashioned back to the woods holiday with his family … fishing from a row boat, Bon fires and hot dogs, while Roman’s idea is High Speed Power boats, Lobster and caviar.

It makes for a hilarious mash up and in the end there is a twist and all is not as it seems in the glorious lifestyles of the rich and famous.

This is one scene from the Movie where Roman rents a speed boat to take the kids waterskiing. Chet is against the idea, hoping to take a nice slow cruise on a pontoon boat and then ends up on water skis going very very fast.
