ABOUT BEING PERSISTENT...

I am a strong believer in building not just skill but also character through dedication towards a path that is often filled with challenges. It takes a lot of courage and strength to go beyond the confines of one’s comfort into the unknown/uncomfortable.

One of the biggest misconceptions about success is that it is easy. Most people assume that if they show up every day things will go as planned but that is never the case. The reality is: you’re more prone to fail more times than you succeed.

It took me countless badly written articles to get to this point where I can string my thoughts together. I was not born a natural writer. In fact, my writing skill was reasonably poor in high school. I could not read or even write properly.

I remember being mocked in front of the class one day for not being able to read properly. Still today I get a lot of anxiety being in public places or being the center of attraction. Even with my history I probably would have never picked up my phone to start blogging.

I still have my challenges as a writer. For one, my proofreading skill isn’t where it should be, but I never gave up on my passion for writing. This is my safe space and I am willing to do whatever it takes to keep it even though it means failing repeatedly.

I am what you call persistent. I do not take no for an answer. When I want something I go at it with everything that is within me. I do not make excuses. It is either I achieve my goal or nothing. This level of doggedness has seen me through so many battles in life.

HOW DOES ONE STAY PERSISTENT?

First of all, you need to have clarity of purpose. Knowing what you want and why you want it. Most people are familiar with the former but not the latter. However, answering the ‘why’ question is important. It keeps you on course even when things aren’t going as planned.

Now you might be clueless in regards to the actions you need to take to better your life but having clarity will nudge you toward the right path. You start asking the right questions and reaching out to the right people.

Staying persistent is the only true way to achieve meaningful growth. I am disgusted by the way most people give up these days on life and everything. It is okay to be hurt, it is okay to feel defeated but carry on even with those negative emotions.

We do not understand how little of the big picture we see. I have seen this play several times in my life--when people stay on course they are rewarded in ways they may have never imagined. Stay on course.

I hope you found this useful in some way. I hope you continue to pursue that which gives your life purpose irrespective of the odds. Cheers!

I don't seem to spot any lies in this.

Honestly speaking, I ain't a writer myself, I have never loved writing, I usually push all my writing assignments to my elder sister, I was more of a math nerd, but now I can say if am to write, I know just how to go about making my work perfect.

It's amazing how you kept on pushing, now you find yourself in better grounds, that's just a real time proof of the effects of a persistent mind.

Kudos

This is my safe space and I am willing to do whatever it takes to keep it even though it means failing repeatedly.

I like this mindset you have. It takes a certain type of clarity to be able to understand how much something matters to you even when failure is presented along the way. Your writing is great and it's evident that you can put your thoughts out there in a relatable way. This is one of the main things I look for when I'm reading someone's content often, I like that personal touch.

Cheers for sharing your journey, it was great to find out a little bit more about you.

I'm on LeoFinance every now and then, and I see you in the comments there a lot. It's great to know that you're getting involved with POB also.

Stay on course

It is easy to stay on course once we are able to answer the "why" question.
We are more driven to achieve that thing because we are aware of why we want it.

I found this post useful, thank you for sharing ❤️

very true my dear. we need a strong emotional attachment to our goal or we will easily fall when things get rough.

Well, if I'm being honest, I'd say your writing is a lot better than some "professionals" I see across various publishing press so kudos to you for sticking with it and honing your skill.

The key really is to start with "why". I read a book called "Start With Why" by Simon Sinek which opened my eyes to get to the roots of why we start doing things. Like you say, the purpose. It's easy to talk about the "what", the end result, but the process, the "how", and the reason, the "why", for doing it are the next two levels respectively.

Great motivation in this one, thanks for sharing your passion through your words here!

the WHAT, HOW and WHY question. Very important in decision making. it provides one with the clarity they need to pursue a goal relentlessly.

I am very impressed by your writing skills, I found this enjoyable and easy to read. It is not always easy to stick on course, when you have been put down so well done for doing so. Writing is a wonderful release and it it has helped me enormously throughout my life.
I like to see each failure as a wonderful opportunity in which to learn, something I tell my girls all of the time xx

i think we live in times where failure has been so demonized and people can not actually enjoy the learning experience which also involves failing at some point. if we never fail we never learn.

thanks for stopping by. I appreciate your comment.

come on friend this is really inspiring, so it has to be a winning aptitude, at all times looking at the target like a sniper never fainting and even if so, never lose hope and less #persistence

For most people, this is the story of their lives. They never believed they could be writers until the magic money in crypto earnings came around. And because of the various platforms that gave them hope, and a sense of belonging, they found their place in writing

I am pleased that you have been able to scale through all hurdles, and this is reflected in your writing improvements. About the better proofreading, you have no reason to worry, you will get better with time.

I feel disgusted by people who give up easily too, but no one should even think of giving at all. We ought to be persistent and watch all our efforts become bless with success

awesome entry, I wish you luck in the contest
