Hace una semana fui a trabajar en un tour como fotógrafo. Yo era el encargado de retratar el día de diversión de los excursionista. La playa ese día estaba full. Uno de los entretenimientos disponibles para los visitantes del balneario era la famosa Banana y también un caballo y un pony que paseaban a los que pagaran por pasear la orilla.

A week ago I went to work on a tour as a photographer. I was responsible for taking pictures of the hikers' day of fun. The beach that day was full. One of the entertainments available for the visitors to the beach was the famous Banana and also a horse and pony that would ride for those who paid to walk along the shore.

El día estaba soleado y hacía mucho calor. Esa sensación aumentó cuando vi al poni, que caminaba con dificultad y tenía marcas en su pelaje de alguna especia de enfermedad.

Lastimosamente no pude concentrarme mucho en ese sentimiento de aflicción, porque debía trabajar, pero hace días, cuando revelé las fotos, al verlas de cerca esa sensación de que esos equinos no estaban bien aumentó.

Reflexiono y me quedo pensando que prácticamente esos ejemplares viven en una especie de circo donde la locación es distinta, donde la libertad tiene aroma de Mar Caribe, pero donde, según yo, llevan a cuesta una enorme carga y no es la de los humanos, sino de no estar disfrutando del bello paisaje.

I reflect and I keep thinking that practically those specimens live in a kind of circus where the location is different, where freedom has the aroma of the Caribbean Sea, but where, according to me, they carry an enormous burden and it is not that of humans, but of not enjoying the beautiful scenery.

Me pregunto si estoy equivocado, si alguien más ve lo mismo que yo o piensa que no hay que preocuparse, porque solo es en mi mente que esos caballos no están felices de estar en un océano inmenso y que ellos sí disfrutan ir y venir miles de veces por la orilla.

I wonder if I am wrong, if someone else sees the same as I do or thinks that there is no need to worry, because it is only in my mind that those horses are not happy to be in a huge ocean and that they do enjoy coming and going thousands of times along the shore.
