Woe betide anyone that expects the world to treat them as a king when they haven't worked for it

One out of many things I've learned about this life is that anyone can be successful irrespective of their level of education, course of study, family background, social status, etc. There are a lot of opportunities out there for anyone that cares to be on the lookout for them.

Remember, everyone has a big dream and everyone likes their dream to become their reality. Yet, most of these dreams never get achieved. Why?

Without beating around the bush, the main setback I've noticed is that many people are afraid of taking up opportunities whenever they notice that there is risk attached to it. They prefer to be placed in a land of milk and honey where every good thing would be under their feet. Lol. Come to think of it, is there anything that doesn't have a risk attachment clause? risk can never be written off anything we do so, the earlier we understand this, the better for us.

Being afraid of uncertainty is already a problem but blaming others for our failure is another big issue. Over here, we casually blame our forefathers for not leaving behind a treasury of gold for us. Wives blame their husbands, kids blame their parents and everyone blame the government. Well, even the government of a country now blames the government of another country for their misfortune so, this is already getting out of hand.

Those that understand the importance of nurturing their mindset knows that pointing fingers wouldn't make a difference. It only leads to perpetual stagnancy.

I've never felt comfortable about blaming people and I don't intend to start at this age. That is why I can boast of being proactive in everything l do. I know my root and I know that l live in a place where nobody will listen to a nameless person that is throwing tantrum about the irregularities that are going on.

Whenever l think of how things are happening here, the only thing that rings in my mind are; "woe betide anyone that expects the world to treat them as a king when they haven't worked for it".

I'm writing this based on what I witness every day about my homeland, but you and l know that the desire to achieve success is not only a Nigerian thing. People from different part of the world wants their success story to be heard and they won't trade that for anything.

Are you afraid to challenge yourself? Are you ready to overcome your fear and pursue your dreams? You've got to make a choice today. Do not allow opportunities to slip through your finger.

Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop Or Comma

Many people feel they are entitled to a lot of things. When you've worked hard all your life and struggled to get where you are you know that this is the thing that actually strengthens you.

I wouldn't say woe betide because that is where they are heading to with such expectations.

Anything gained through hard work gives a different sort of taste and satisfaction.

It's a pity that many people will never get to see it this way because they want the whole world to fall on their feet.
