¿Por qué hay personas que tienen éxito y otras que por más que trabajen ardua y constantemente no logran arribar a sus sueños, metas o anhelos? ¿Qué los diferencia a unos de otros?

Esto ha sido motivo de obsesión en mi vida personal, en mi búsqueda de alguna respuesta válida hace tiempo atrás, leyendo y escuchando material de autoayuda, encontré este punto de vista que mostrase el orador motivacional CAMILO CRUZ.

Hoy hablaremos de los “ESTÁNDARES DE CALIDAD” que nosotros nos imponemos a nuestras vidas.

Esta historia que voy a contar a modo de ejemplo, para ilustrar el punto a desarrollar es verídica, ya que salió publicada hace tiempo atrás en un diario de Miami.

A un hombre, lo atrapan ROBANDO en un supermercado de un shopping del centro de la ciudad. Lo detienen y lo llevan, demorado a la seccional perteneciente a esa jurisdicción. (En Norteamérica, robar menos de 100 dólares se tomaba como delito menor, excarcelable y si robabas más de 100 dólares, es igual a delito mayor, sí vas preso). ¡Cuánto robo este hombre! Ciento cuatro dólares con setenta y cinco centavos (104,75) en mercadería, o sea delito mayor.

Obviamente le pusieron un abogado defensor, como dicta la ley, y este lo empezó a indagar. ¿Por qué lo hiciste? Y al observar la mercadería atentamente que este había sustraído dentro de su ropa al Supermercado, se percató que la suma en cuestión era el resultado de la lista de precio estándar de dicho comercio, pero a su vez ese preciso día “habían lanzado ofertas” y dichos descuentos no habían sido tomados en cuenta, ahora el monto teniendo en cuenta los productos en oferta se reducía a noventa y ocho dólares con veinticinco centavos (98,25) lo que lo convertía automáticamente en un delito menor excarcelable.

Munido de esta nueva evidencia, el abogado se presentó a la corte en un juicio abreviado y dijo ante el juez de turno “Sería anticonstitucional y discriminatorio no otorgarle a mi cliente los descuentos que todo habitante del mundo tenía derecho ese día”

El juez se quedó sin palabras y lo tuvo que dejar ir por delito menor excarcelable. “Parece un chiste, pero lamentablemente es verdad”.

Todo lo que vamos decidiendo hacer con nuestras vidas, cambian nuestros “ESTÁNDARES DE CALIDAD” o bajan aceptando, la MEDIOCRIDAD ABSOLUTA, o suben aceptando nuevos límites de EXCELENCIA.

Crecer, es siempre salir del estado de comodidad que nos impone lo conocido y arriesgarnos, retarnos a nosotros mismos, a saltar al vacío y transitar atentos, en lo desconocido, rompiendo paso a paso paradigmas, para generar nuevos.

Tú y solo tú elijes hacia donde encaminas tú vida, MEDIOCRIDAD ABSOLUTA o EXCELENCIA.
